Position Summaryย 

The District Sales Manager I serves as the primary liaison between the company, its independent dealer network, and customers to drive sales growth, market share expansion, and dealer success across the assigned territory. This role leads the execution of sales strategies for DEVELON's construction equipment portfolio by strengthening dealer capabilities, developing territory business plans, and expanding retail sales opportunities. Working closely with dealers and internal cross-functional teams, the District Sales Manager I provides sales leadership, product training, market insights, and business support to enhance dealer performance, customer satisfaction, and brand representation. The position requires strong sales expertise, strategic planning, relationship management, and communication skills to support sustainable business growth and strengthen DEVELON's competitive position in the heavy equipment industry.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and execute annual territory sales plans with independent dealers to achieve and exceed assigned sales and market share objectives.

Build and maintain strong consultative relationships with dealer principals, sales managers, and sales representatives to drive business growth and long-term partnerships.

Lead dealer business planning initiatives that align with company sales strategies, territory development goals, and market share objectives.

Conduct regular business reviews with dealers to evaluate sales performance, market share, retail activity, and business opportunities.

Analyze sales performance, market trends, competitive activity, and dealer metrics to identify growth opportunities and implement strategic action plans.

Deliver product, sales, and competitive training programs to dealer sales teams to improve product knowledge, sales effectiveness, and customer engagement.

Mentor and coach dealer sales personnel through field visits, joint customer calls, and ongoing sales development activities.

Partner with dealers to enhance customer satisfaction by supporting effective sales processes, customer relationship management, and retail execution.

Represent DEVELON professionally while balancing the interests of the company, dealers, and customers to strengthen brand reputation and market presence.

Collaborate with internal Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Finance, and Customer Support teams to support dealer initiatives, product launches, and territory growth.

Monitor territory performance and dealer progress against established objectives while promoting accountability and execution of strategic initiatives.

Maintain accurate sales forecasts, customer activity, and territory reports while supporting continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to overall business objectives.

Education / Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in sales, territory management, channel sales, dealer development, or B2B sales.

Experience working with dealer networks, distribution channels, or construction/heavy equipment industries preferred.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Completion of prerequisite training programs.

Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Frequent travel (up to 50%) throughout the assigned North Eastern territory to support dealers, customers, and company events.

Combination of remote/home-office work and field-based travel to dealer locations, customer sites, and industry events.

Regular participation in dealer meetings, customer visits, sales presentations, product demonstrations, and training programs.

Schedule flexibility required to accommodate dealer support, travel, and business needs.
