PvP Trade - Senior Mobile Engineer

De Circle

New York, NY • On-site, Remote

Job description

About pvp.trade
PVP is building the next generation of DeFi trading powered by Hyperliquid. Our mission is to democratize access to global financial markets-across crypto, equities, and commodities-by leveraging decentralized technologies.
We are the largest builder-code product on Hyperliquid, having processed over $65B in cumulative trading volume and generated eight figures in revenue in the past year, with more than 400,000 registered traders.
We are a small, highly technical team of top individual contributors passionate about free markets and ambitious systems design. Our culture is low-process, high-trust, and output-focused, ideal for self-starters who thrive in 0→1 environments and own their craft end-to-end.
About the Role:
Mobile is where traders feel confidence, speed, and flow. Every animation, gesture, and transition directly affects how users experience real-time markets managing billions in volume.
Your role is to craft pixel-perfect, high-performance React Native experiences that feel fast, intuitive, and emotionally precise-turning performance into trust and raw speed into delight.
You'll set the standard for mobile polish within PVP, collaborating tightly with design and product to deliver real-time trading, analytics, and social experiences that are indistinguishable from native apps.
Preferred background:
  • Elite Web2 product companies (Shopify, Discord, Robinhood, Cash App, Coinbase, etc.) rather than primarily crypto backgrounds, unless they've worked at Rainbow Wallet or Family Wallet, both known for exceptional React Native work.
Role Details
Responsibilities:
  • Own technical direction and architecture for PVP's mobile trading experience.
  • Build high-performance React Native UI for real-time trading, analytics, and social features at scale.
  • Craft smooth, interruptible animations, gesture-driven motion systems, and tactile feedback that feel premium and effortless.
  • Translate Figma design systems into reusable RN component libraries that scale.
  • Work closely with designers to iterate on UI/UX in Figma and code, ensuring pixel-level fidelity.
  • Design a robust, resilient real-time data pipeline for mobile using modern TypeScript state management and WebSockets.
  • Bridge native modules (Swift/Kotlin) where performance, animations, or haptics demand it.
  • Partner with backend engineers to optimize API and data-layer efficiency for bandwidth and latency.
  • Profile and eliminate performance bottlenecks-achieve consistent 60 FPS across devices and platforms.
  • Ship production-ready code with monitoring, debugging, and iterative tuning post-launch.

Required Skills:
A. 5+ years of hands-on React Native experience shipping production apps built with TypeScript.
B. Deep knowledge of React Native Reanimated (v2/v3) for gesture-based motion and animations.
C. Experience using RN Skia, Lottie, or similar low-level rendering systems for custom charts, visuals, or effects.
Bonus Skills:
  • Native iOS (Swift / SwiftUI) or Android (Kotlin) experience.
  • Experience at high-quality consumer-grade or trading apps (e.g., Discord, Shopify, Rainbow Wallet, Robinhood, Coinbase, or similar).
  • Contributions to open-source React Native libraries or animation frameworks.
  • Experience designing motion or animation systems used across a scaled mobile app.
Compensation
Logistical Info:
  • $150-220K base + equity
  • Remote (EU, LATAM, or North America preferred with 5-6 hours EST overlap)
