Job description

About Aigent Energy
AGent is building the leading software platform to optimize distributed generation resources - turning energy liabilities into reliable, monetizable assets. We bring AI to the aggregation, orchestration, and monetization of distributed generation in wholesale and retail power markets, delivering meaningful reliability, economic, and sustainability benefits to commercial, institutional, and industrial energy users, utilities, and grid operators.
We move fast, think big, and operate with a lean, high-trust team. Every hire matters here.
About the role
AGent is seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Energy Market Analyst to help build and operate the systems that take a distributed generation MW from registration to daily value maximization in wholesale energy markets. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone early in their career who has real experience in wholesale markets and DERs - and wants to grow fast inside a high-impact energy tech company.
You'll work at the intersection of data, market operations, and process - helping build the infrastructure that allows AGent to scale MW participation across multiple markets. You love digging into data, you sweat the details, and you understand that getting the operational fundamentals right is what makes everything else possible.
Responsibilities
Market Operations & Registration
  • Support the wholesale energy market registration process across AGent's target markets with exceptional attention to detail
  • Assist in executing the end-to-end lifecycle of MW participation: interval data acquisition, offer management, registrations, dispatch operations, and settlement
  • Help ensure program milestones - including seasonal starts, testing, and validation - are met on time

Data & Analytics
  • Acquire, manage, and analyze market and asset performance data
  • Support load modeling and performance forecasting to maximize asset value
  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards that surface actionable insights for the team
  • Develop and track KPIs that measure market performance and progress toward strategic goals

Process & Technology
  • Help evaluate and implement tools and technology that improve operational efficiency
  • Contribute to building scalable processes across data workflows and cross-functional stakeholder responsibilities
  • Work closely with engineering to ensure systems are aligned and integrated effectively

GTM Support
  • Support the GTM team with data and market intelligence tools that help quantify and communicate value to prospects

Qualifications
Required
  • Experience in wholesale energy markets - you understand how markets work and have participated in them in some capacity
  • Familiarity with grid operator registration processes and MW participation requirements
  • Strong Python and SQL skills - you're comfortable working with data programmatically
  • Experience with Claude AI or other AI tools in a professional context, or a demonstrated eagerness to learn and integrate AI into your workflow
  • Analytical, detail-oriented mindset with strong follow-through
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences
  • 1-3 years of experience in the DER or wholesale energy space

Preferred
  • Experience with distributed energy resources (DERs), virtual power plants, or distributed power plants
  • Exposure to offer management, settlement processes, or dispatch operations
  • Experience building or contributing to operational processes and systems
  • Strong alignment with AGent's mission to accelerate the energy transition

Benefits
  • Competitive base salary, performance bonus, and early-stage equity
  • 100% employer-paid Health, Dental, and Vision premiums for full-time employees
  • Two health plan options: traditional plan with FSA, or HDHP with company-funded HSA
  • Basic Term Life Insurance + voluntary insurance options
  • Flexible PTO
  • Fully remote - work from anywhere in the U.S.
  • Direct access to the founding team and real ownership of your work from day one
  • A front-row seat to the energy transition
