Job description

The opportunity

TechnologyAdvice is looking for an Email Marketing Manager to help grow, engage, and optimize our newsletter audience across a portfolio of B2B media brands.

This role sits within the Audience Development team and supports a newsletter ecosystem that includes 50+ newsletters and more than 3 million subscribers across multiple brands. You will help build lifecycle programs, improve subscriber engagement, support audience growth, and turn email performance data into clear recommendations that strengthen our newsletter strategy and monetization opportunities.

This is a hands-on role for someone who has managed email programs at a meaningful scale and can think beyond individual sends. The right person understands how to build segmented lifecycle journeys, test and improve engagement, and use tools, data, and AI thoughtfully to improve speed, quality, and performance.

Location: United States

What you'll do
  • Build and optimize subscriber acquisition, engagement, retention, reactivation, and win-back programs across multiple newsletter audiences.
  • Develop lifecycle email journeys for different subscriber cohorts, brands, and audience segments.
  • Monitor newsletter and lifecycle performance, identify trends, and recommend ways to improve engagement, retention, and revenue opportunities.
  • Create and refine segmentation, personalization, behavioral targeting, and A/B testing strategies.
  • Partner with editorial, audience, marketing, AdOps, and executive stakeholders to align email programs with brand standards, audience needs, and business goals.
  • Support newsletter monetization by helping evaluate sponsorship performance, audience engagement, and campaign opportunities.
  • Use generative AI and AI-powered marketing tools to accelerate campaign planning, testing, analysis, reporting, and workflow efficiency while maintaining editorial judgment and quality standards.
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, brand alignment, compliance, and audience relevance before they are used in subscriber-facing work.
  • Present email performance insights and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
Who you are
  • 3-5 years of experience in email marketing, lifecycle marketing, newsletter publishing, or audience development.
  • Experience managing email or newsletter programs at a meaningful scale, ideally with audiences of 100,000+ subscribers or across multiple brands, segments, or newsletter products.
  • Hands-on experience building lifecycle programs beyond one-off sends, including welcome series, onboarding, engagement, reactivation, win-back, preference-based journeys, or similar automated programs.
  • Experience using ESPs or marketing automation platforms such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, Marketo, Sailthru, or similar tools.
  • Skilled in segmentation, automation workflows, behavioral targeting, A/B testing, and performance analysis.
  • Able to translate email performance data into practical recommendations for improving subscriber growth, engagement, retention, and monetization.
  • Experience working with editorial, content, media, AdOps, or audience teams to support newsletter quality and business outcomes.
  • Strong writing and editing judgment, with the ability to evaluate copy, subject lines, CTAs, and campaign messaging for clarity, performance, and brand fit.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI to accelerate newsletter production, generate testing hypotheses, support audience growth initiatives, and synthesize performance insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Comfortable reviewing AI-generated outputs for accuracy, quality, compliance, and audience relevance before publication.
What we offer you
  • Career Growth: Advance with mentorship programs, leadership academies, and opportunities to shape company culture and DEI initiatives.
  • Flex Fridays: Adjust your 40-hour week to enjoy a full or half day off on Fridays.
  • Remote-First Culture: Work from the comfort of your home.
  • Flexible PTO: Take the time you need, when you need it.
  • Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision plans for you and your family.
  • Insurance Protection: Life, AD&D, Short-Term, and Long-Term Disability coverage.
  • 401K with Match: Secure your future with our company-matched retirement savings.
