• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of clients through virtual platforms, identifying their specific mental health needs and establishing effective treatment goals.
• Facilitate one-on-one counseling sessions via telehealth, employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support clients with various issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction.
• Lead group therapy sessions, such as support and psychoeducational groups, to foster community and connection among clients experiencing similar challenges.
• Develop personalized treatment plans, integrating therapeutic interventions, measurable goals, and a timeline for progress tracking to ensure clients achieve their desired outcomes.
• Provide immediate support during crisis situations by coordinating with emergency services when necessary, demonstrating a strong aptitude for crisis intervention strategies.
• Engage in ongoing professional development by attending workshops, seminars, and training relevant to best practices in mental health counseling and teletherapy.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and psychologists, to optimize client care and ensure a holistic approach to mental health treatment.

As an LMHC at St Monica Behavioral Health, you will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals with varying mental health diagnoses, socio-economic backgrounds, and cultural identities. Our clients may be dealing with stressors exacerbated by the challenges of modern life, including relationship issues, occupational stress, and behavioral health disorders. The counselor’s role is vital in providing empathetic and effective support to empower clients toward recovery.

• A master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
• Valid license as a mental health counselor in the state of Florida is mandatory; licensing requirements typically include passing a recognized exam, fulfilling educational criteria, and completing supervised clinical experience.
• A minimum of three years of supervised clinical practice to meet state regulations, displaying a deep understanding of various therapeutic approaches and client assessment techniques.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and counseling skills, enabling effective rapport-building with clients and colleagues.
• A diligent commitment to ongoing training and professional development to stay informed about best practices in mental health counseling.

• Additional certifications or specialized training in trauma-informed care, addiction counseling, or family therapy may be advantageous, enhancing the ability to address specific client needs.
• Experience using telehealth platforms and technologies to conduct therapy sessions efficiently.
