LMR Technical Group (LMR) is seeking a Capture / Business Development Manager.

Job Title: Capture / Business Development Manager

Job Description:

The Capture Manager will oversee the development and growth of profitable new business, develop, and maintain effective key customer relationships, and ensure business growth through directing and managing business development activities. The Capture Manager may also act as the proposal manager. The Capture Manager will be an accomplished business developer who understands project management, contracts, and proposal development.

The Capture Manager is responsible for oversight and completion of the business development activities for the organization from pursuit through award. Primary duties include identifying, developing, driving, and winning new and re-competing business opportunities. The Capture Manager will build and maintain successful relationships with prospects and existing clients and collaborate with executives on the business strategy to determine objectives. The Capture Manager will participate in business development meetings, capture activities, industry events, networking activities, and other outreach and marketing activities.

The successful candidate will have experience targeting the market, identifying and qualifying new business opportunities and leading business development teams through the capture process to include: customer contact, competitive intelligence, gap analysis and bid team structuring; development of the value proposition, win strategy and offer design; price-to-win and design to cost; bid a business case; proposal product development, color reviews, submission, final proposal revisions, hand-off for implementation, lessons learned for continuous improvement, new business budgeting and cost control.

The Capture Manager will maintain a business development pipeline; direct, coordinate and conduct bid strategies; develop kick-off slides, write proposals, conduct market research, evaluate current business performance, and make recommendations for process improvement. The Capture Manager will manage the preparation and submission of Non-Disclosure Agreements, Teaming Agreements, Subcontractor Agreements, and other agreements related to business development activities.

The Capture Manager will identify the resources required to pursue a bid, establishes any infrastructures required, processes, and plans necessary, and manages their execution. The Capture Manager will plan and prepare presentations and briefing materials; communicate company capabilities at events/meetings and oversee the development and/or develop marketing material.

Primary Tasks:

  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify new business development opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with prospective clients, while maintaining existing client relationships
  • Responsible for DoD / Federal Government capture, and/or proposal management, support, and writing experience.
  • Become a subject matter expert on LMR's contracts, products, processes, and operations, and remain up to date on industry news.
  • Coordinate with marketing corporate team to develop sales strategies to improve company's marketing and sales performance.
  • Develop dynamic business presentations and proposals for clients and internal communications.
  • Participate in industry and sales meetings to provide recommendations and inputs on business strategies.
  • Attend trade shows, industry associations, job fairs to improve company's visibility.
  • Prepare all documentation required for requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Seven (7) or more years of Business Development experience in the DoD/Federal Markets.
  • Proven Business Development success across wide variety of customers and capabilities.
  • Experience managing proposal process, including developing and writing proposals.
  • Experience using Federal Compass, GOVWIN, or BGOV
  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in business administration, finance, management, or closely related field.
  • Detailed understanding of the industry in order to be conversant in the terminology, policies, organizational structure, etc.
  • Must have the ability to become a subject matter expert on the job.
  • Innovation and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding negotiation skills.
  • Able to complete multiple tasks efficiently, independently, and correctly.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Desired Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Master's Degree in business administration, finance, personnel management, operations management, supply chain management or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with an entrepreneurial mindset and the drive to maximize business potential.
  • Able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, with impending deadlines and/or established timeframes.

Expected Salary Range:$60,000 - $160,000 annually. Salary will be based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, training, certifications and work location.
