Work Environment

This position offers a remote work setting, allowing you the flexibility to deliver services from your own workspace while adhering to a structured schedule. Typical work hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional evening hours required to accommodate client appointments. You will be equipped with digital tools to conduct sessions, perform client assessments, and maintain records, ensuring continued communication and collaboration with our multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough and empathetic assessments to evaluate clientsโ€™ mental health and substance use challenges, accurately identifying co-occurring disorders.

  • Coordinate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that fuse mental health and substance use interventions, utilizing evidence-based methodologies such as Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT).

  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions, employing techniques designed to enhance coping skills, emotional regulation, and relapse prevention.

  • Engage in consistent collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and addiction specialists, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.

  • Conduct ongoing substance use monitoring and embrace motivational interviewing strategies to empower clients in their recovery journeys.

  • Deliver educational resources to clients and families regarding the interplay between mental health and substance use disorders, promoting adherence to treatment plans.

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of therapeutic progress, interventions, and referrals, in line with ethical and legal standards.

  • Participate in regular case conferences, staff meetings, and professional development training sessions to continually enhance your expertise in co-occurring disorder treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will primarily work with individuals facing co-occurring mental health issues and substance use disorders. This diverse and complex population requires a nuanced understanding of their unique challenges and resilience. You will collaborate closely with clients during their recovery process, offering compassionate support and guidance tailored to meet their individual needs.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

  • Current licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Florida.

  • Proven proficiency in evidence-based treatment modalities for co-occurring disorders, particularly Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

  • Deep understanding of the relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, along with the ability to communicate this effectively to clients.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling successful collaboration within an interdisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience
  • At least two years of relevant experience in mental health counseling or therapy, particularly with clients experiencing co-occurring disorders.

  • Familiarity with telehealth best practices and digital platforms for remote client engagement.
