Job description

About the Role

Uber Ads, Offers, & Growth is looking for an expert and strategic Ads Product Management leader, responsible for developing and implementing innovative approaches to acquire and retain advertisers, increase advertiser value, and optimize user experience and engagement.

Product at Uber means making big decisions without perfect information-and owning the outcomes. As the Director of Product Management - Ads, you aren't just managing a digital feature; you are building the high-stakes engine that powers the expansion of advertising across Uber Eats globally. This role sits at the intersection of our digital and real worlds, where every product decision impacts millions of local economies, merchants, and users.

You will turn complexity into clarity at speed, navigating competing priorities between Sales, Engineering, and Regional General Managers while leading through influence. The work is fast, the systems are massive, and the answers aren't always scripted. We aren't looking for someone to follow a playbook-we need a leader to help write the next one. If you think critically, move with urgency, and want to shape the future by solving what's hard, this is where you'll grow.

What You'll Do

  • Build and Scale the Engine: Lead a high-performing team of Product Managers to develop innovative approaches for acquiring and retaining advertisers while increasing long-term value.
  • Navigate the Messiness: Identify growth opportunities and implement data-driven experiments to improve advertiser experience in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
  • Unblock at Speed: Anticipate and remove obstacles that slow down operational or product objectives, ensuring the team stays focused on high-impact delivery.
  • Champion Truth-Seeking: Partner across mobility and delivery businesses to perform deep-dive analyses on business trends and competitive insights, embracing critical feedback to iterate.
  • Bridge the Gap: Effectively communicate complex strategy and growth plans to diverse stakeholders, from business audiences to C-level executives.
  • Think Boldly: Challenge your cross-functional team of Engineers, Data Scientists, and Designers to think beyond the status quo and channel that energy into concrete action.
  • Global Collaboration: Partner with Business Development and regional leaders to evaluate vital data acquisition partnerships on a global scale.

What You'll Need

  • Quantitative Foundation: Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelor's degree in Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience, including 5 years of leading other leaders.
  • Proven Track Record: 10+ years of product management experience with a history of delivering successful 0-to-1 products.

Bonus Points If

  • Industry Leadership: Experience working on large-scope advertiser experience or overall advertising optimization initiatives
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to craft a multi-year strategy and coherent roadmap that the business and technical teams rally behind.
  • Data-Savvy Mindset: Experience using data to make hard decisions quickly without falling into analysis paralysis.
  • Technical Depth: Technically proficient enough to collaborate with engineers on product architecture and lead high-profile data products.
  • Cross-Functional Mastery: Consistent track record of linking technical development issues to broader P&L and operational goals in a matrixed organization.
  • Resilient Leadership: Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment while inspiring others to the highest standards through leading by example.

Perks

  • The rare opportunity to change the world such that everyone around you is using the product you built. We're not just another social web app, we're moving real people and assets and reinventing transportation and logistics globally.
  • Sharp, motivated co-workers in a fun office environment.
