Working remotely, these specialists audit digital products, provide recommendations for improvements, and may also train teams on best practices. Their goal is to help organizations create inclusive digital experiences that are usable by everyone, regardless of ability.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Digital Accessibility Specialist, and why are they important?

Familiarity with assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers), accessibility testing tools (like Axe or WAVE), and content management systems is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail help in collaborating with diverse teams and advocating for inclusive design. These skills and qualifications are crucial to ensure digital content is accessible to all users, meeting legal requirements and fostering greater usability.
