Electrical Harness Design Engineer - Remote | Oshkosh, Wisconsin, United States Job Description & Skill Requirement:
This position is for an Electrical Harness Designer role to join a growing military vehicle team with L&T Technology Services (LTTS). As an important part of the Engineering team here at LTTS, you will actively be providing critical value to our customers by performing harness design to ensure the interconnectivity of electrical components are maintained.
This role will work with the LTTS team and one of our major military vehicle customers, following Engineering Standard Work, to evaluate parts and ensure designs meet all structural safety margin requirements.
This is considered a remote position, though the candidate must reside in the US due to the nature of the work. This is a full time, temporary role that is expected to continue until May 2026, however it may be extended.
Primary Responsibilities
• Use CAD modeling software and drafting understanding to create CAD models and manufacturing drawings of electrical harnesses and related components
• Follow all customer required document control procedures to ensure proper data storage throughout the project
• Work with customer engineering departments/disciplines to ensure design requirements are met
• Create and deliver presentations at various required design reviews and when making engineering recommendations.
• Generate templates, document lessons-learned, develop tools, and support the creation of training presentations to enable repeatable, standardized results amongst the team
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to current engineering processes, tools, trainings, etc.
• Update status reports, present project status to customers, and work with LTTS project management to ensure productive and consistent customer communication.
• Understand and adhere to all export control regulations.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 2+ year(s) of relevant CAD harness/cable design and drawing creation
• Direct experience working with Creo Parametric CAD software
• Outstanding communication and technical writing skills
• Outstanding customer interfacing skills
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with off-highway vehicles / automotive industries
• Experience with Creo Cabling application
• Experience with Windchill PLM software
• Experience working in electrical and mechanical harness design
• An understanding of engineering services business practices
• Exposure to project or program management
• Experience writing or creating standard work, establishing processes, and documenting lessons learned
