Description
SAIC is seeking a Modeling Engineer-Scientist to support the Next Generation Submarine Battery program in Crane, IN.
NOTE: This position is 100% remote; however, candidate must be able to travel to Crane, IN approximately twice per month.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, enhance, and validate thermal and electrochemical models to support battery system design and performance assessment
  • Apply MATLAB for model development, simulation, and analysis
  • Support modeling activities related to multi-physics interactions within NiZn, Lead-Acid, and Lithium battery systems
  • Assist with developing complex thermal and electrochemical models

Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related scientific discipline and nine (9) years of experience; Master's degree and seven (7) years of experience; PhD and four (4) years of experience
  • Experience with thermal modeling
  • Proficiency in MATLAB
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based, technical environment
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance; can start once interim clearance is granted. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in electrical and chemical modeling
  • Familiarity with ANSYS thermal modeling tools
