Job description

The Sr. Salesforce Architect will report to the Director of Software Engineering in the Technology Department. This role is responsible for overseeing the design and architecture of the solutions deployed to our Salesforce platform. The incumbent will need a deep understanding of the Salesforce platform and toolsets. This includes Sales, Financial Services, Service, Experience, and Marketing Clouds. This role will partner with developers and business analysts to drive business goals and efficiencies. This role will provide cohesive, streamlined, and quality solutions by taking an advisory and partnering role. With a focus on development and integration, this role utilizes best practices and technologies to configure solutions to meet business challenges and integrate across systems to help drive our digital transformation. This role will interface, build, and maintain relationships with internal/external clients. This role will also mentor team members.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Architect, design, and integrate Salesforce solutions as a subject matter expert (SME) and advisor Collaborate and partner with stakeholders to elicit business and functional requirements.
  • Design secure, scalable, and sustainable solutions alongside our technical leaders, providing detailed design documentation, proofs-of-concept, and prototypes.
  • Map out and maintain Salesforce application architecture, data architecture, and journey maps of our application experience.
  • Refine the Salesforce product backlog in liaison with project stakeholders Lead Salesforce projects using Agile principles.
  • Maintain strong understanding of Salesforce Declarative Programming and Administration (develop code, custom objects, Visual Force pages, Apex, reports, workflows, and assignment rules).
  • Design and develop solutions primarily on the Salesforce platform using Apex, Visual Force, Lightning, Java, Salesforce API framework, and 3rd party APIs.
  • Create Test Classes and perform unit testing and defect fixes.
  • Contribute to areas such as web security, REST/SOAP APIs and system monitoring concepts.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
  • Provide weekly status updates to management.
  • Manage a program or specialty area of the business.
  • Communicate clear priorities and relevant information to implement day-to-day work.
  • Resolve the most difficult problems facing the team, program, or specialty area.
  • Uniformly identify high performers who consistently produce quality work.
  • Identify the right situations for coaching, feedback, and training.
  • Remove barriers for the team. Ensure team members have all the tools, resources, and context to execute.
  • Has a good understanding of their team's strengths and opportunities, capitalizing on their strengths and coaching opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
  • 15+ years of experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Multiple and ongoing Salesforce certifications demonstrating current knowledge as an Architect and Developer

Skills & Abilities:
  • At least 5 years of experience in Salesforce specific Development and Architecture across multiple clouds
  • At least three years of experience in Agile principals and frameworks
  • Prior work experience in a financial services industry preferred
  • Deep understanding of object-oriented design and programming concepts
  • Experience and strong understanding of DevOPs frameworks and automation
  • Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language, such as Java, C#, C++
  • Solid understanding of web technologies such as HTTP, JavaScript, React, Angular, AJAX, HTML and CSS
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and understanding of relational databases
  • Prioritize, multi-task and complete tasks within timelines
  • Excellent analysis and problem-solving abilities
  • Professional track record of superb interpersonal and communication skills

Other Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
