Legal Assistant (Full-Time, Remote)

Position Overview

Firm is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our team in a fast-paced, volume-driven environment. This is a fully remote, full-time position requiring strong technical skills, the ability to multitask efficiently, and a commitment to accuracy and thorough file review. MUST RESIDE IN FLORIDA.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Pay: $20$30 per hour (based on experience)
  • Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Location: Fully remote
  • Core Hours Requirement: Must be available daily from 9:00 AM 2:00 PM; remaining hours are flexible

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, organize, and maintain legal files with a high level of accuracy
  • Conduct legal and factual research as needed
  • Prepare, review, and process legal documents
  • Manage a high-volume workload while meeting strict deadlines
  • Perform detailed file reviews and audits to ensure completeness and compliance
  • Utilize case management systems and other legal technologies efficiently
  • Collaborate with team members via screen sharing and remote tools
  • Track and update case progress and internal systems
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client and case information

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Prior legal experience required (high-volume environment strongly preferred)
  • Typing speed of 70+ WPM preferred
  • Excellent typing accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • High level of computer proficiency, including ability to navigate multiple systems
  • Comfort using remote collaboration tools such as Google Meet, Slack, and virtual desktop environments
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with legal case management software
  • Familiarity with high-volume litigation or collections workflows
  • Experience with document review, auditing, or compliance processes

Day in the Life

In this role, you will begin your day by logging into a firm-issued computer and accessing our virtual desktop environment. From there, you will review your assigned queue of tasks, focusing on items due the same day and prioritizing based on upcoming hearing dates.

Daily work includes a mix of:

  • Document preparation
  • Exhibit collection from online portals
  • Data entry and system updates
  • Detailed file review and quality control
  • Handling escalations as needed

While tasks may vary slightly day-to-day, the overall workflow is structured and consistent across the team. Each team member is responsible for a similar set of daily responsibilities, allowing for both routine and variety within a high-volume environment.

This role offers flexibility outside of required core hours. Team members are expected to be available from 9:00 AM 2:00 PM, but may structure the remainder of their day as needed to complete their full 40 hours. Breaks can be taken throughout the day, with the option to step away and return later to finish remaining work.
