Key responsibilities

  • Design and maintain foundational shared services such as VPCs, DNS, PKI, and secrets management.

  • Own the cloud landing zone, including multi-region connectivity, account/resource structure, tagging standards, and scaling.

  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code pipelines to automate, test, and repeat infrastructure changes.

Job description

Webflow is the agentic web marketing platform for modern marketing teams, helping organizations build, manage, and optimize high-performing web experiences that drive predictable growth and strengthen brand trust. Building at Webflow will need grit, because we move fast, without ever sacrificing craft or quality.

We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer, Infrastructure to build and own the foundational cloud and source control infrastructure that sits outside our product. This role is distinct from our Product Infrastructure and Developer Productivity teams: rather than supporting product systems or professional engineering workflows, you'll stand up the corporate cloud foundation from the ground up - multi-account architecture, networking, DNS, PKI, and secrets management - along with the GitHub-based delivery pipelines that govern how infrastructure gets provisioned and changed.

You'll design the landing zone and the paved-road templates that make hosting and source control self-service by default. Builders on this platform range from engineers to AI-assisted teams across the business, so the guardrails you build - policy-as-code, scoped modules, tagging enforcement, cost controls, security baselines - carry the weight a human reviewer otherwise would. Making that system permissive enough to be useful and constrained enough to be safe is the central challenge of the role.

About the role:
  • Location: Remote-first (United States)
  • Full-time
  • Permanent
  • Exempt
  • The cash compensation for this role is tailored to align with the cost of labor in different geographic markets. We've structured the base pay ranges for this role into zones for our geographic markets, and the specific base pay within the range will be determined by the candidate's geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, qualifications, and skills.
    • United States ย (all figures cited below are in USD and pertain to workers in the United States)
      • Zone A: $212,500 - $255,000
      • Zone B: $200,000 - $240,000
      • Zone C: $186,500 - $224,000

This role is also eligible to participate in Webflow's company-wide bonus program. Target amounts are a percentage of base salary and vary by career level. Payouts are based on company performance against established financial and operational goals.ย

Please visit our Careers page for more information on which locations are included in each of our geographic pay zones. However, please confirm the zone for your specific location with your recruiter.

  • Application Information:
    • Application deadline: applications accepted on an ongoing basis until position is closed and filled
    • This posting is for a new position
  • Reporting to the Senior Director, Information Technology

As a Senior Platform Engineer, Infrastructure, you'll...

  • Design and maintain foundational shared services - VPCs, DNS, PKI, and secrets management - that other teams and self-service pathways depend on
  • Own the cloud landing zone: multi-region connectivity, account/resource structure, tagging standards, and cost-efficient scaling
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code pipelines (Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible) so infrastructure changes are automated, tested, and repeatable
  • Design self-service pathways for code hosting (templated repo creation with standards baked in - visibility, branch protection, CI hooks) so builders can get set up without platform team involvement
  • Design self-service deployment pathways - a small set of golden-path hosting patterns (e.g., static sites, lightweight services, scheduled jobs) that provision automatically into the governed landing zone
  • Build the guardrails that make self-service safe: policy-as-code, tagging enforcement, cost controls, and security baselines
  • Develop foundational observability infrastructure - logging, metrics, and tracing - giving builders and application teams at-a-glance visibility into system health
  • Partner with SRE on platform reliability: availability, resilience, and performance of the underlying infrastructure
  • Manage cloud vendor and tooling relationships at the engineering level, flagging risk and cost issues early
About you:

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in platform, infrastructure, or cloud engineering, with demonstrated ownership of production cloud environments
  • Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including multi-account architecture
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible)
  • Experience with GitOps-style delivery pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
  • Solid grounding in networking and security fundamentals (VPC design, DNS, PKI, secrets management)
  • Experience with observability tooling (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Familiarity with cloud cost management (FinOps) practices
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and partnership skills with SREs, security, and developer productivity
  • Nice to have: experience supporting non-engineering builders (e.g., citizen developers, AI-assisted tooling users) with infrastructure they can self-serve

You'll thrive as a Senior Platform Engineer, Infrastructure if you:

  • Prefer building the paved road over paving one request at a time
  • Default to designing safe systems rather than approving individual exceptions
  • Are comfortable being the sole owner and expert on critical infrastructure, with no direct reports and no safety net
  • Can design for two audiences at once: engineers and non-technical builders
  • Treat security and cost as design constraints, not cleanup work
  • Get more done through good defaults and influence than through mandates
  • Care as much about adoption as uptime
  • Are comfortable defining a new discipline rather than inheriting an established one
  • Stay curious and open to growth - demonstrating a proactive embrace of AI, and actively building and applying fluency in emerging technologies to elevate how we work, drive faster outcomes, and expand collective impact.

Our Core Behaviors:

  • Build lasting customer trust. We build trust by taking action that puts customer trust first.
  • Win together. We play to win, and we win as one team. Success at Webflow isn't a solo act.
  • Reinvent ourselves. We don't just improve what exists, we imagine what's possible.
  • Own it all the way. We move fast because the moment demands it, and we hold ourselves accountable to deliver outcomes - for each other, and for customers.
Benefits
  • Ownership in what you help build. Every permanent Webflower receives equity (RSUs) in our growing, privately held company.
  • Health coverage that actually covers you. Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans for full-time employees and their dependents, with Webflow covering most premiums.
  • Support for every stage of family life. 12 weeks of paid parental leave for all parents and 6+ weeks of additional paid leave for birthing parents. Plus inclusive care for family planning, menopause, and midlife transitions.
  • Time off that's actually off. Flexible vacation, paid holidays, and a sabbatical program to help you recharge and come back inspired.
  • Wellness for the whole you. Access to mental health resources, therapy and coaching.
  • Invest in your future. A 401(k) with 100% employer match (up to $6,000/year) in the U.S., and support for retirement savings globally.ย
  • Monthly stipends that flex with your life. Localized support for work and wellness expenses - from Wi-Fi to workouts.
  • Bonus for building together. All full-time, permanent, non-commission employees are eligible for our annual WIN bonus program.
