Construction Client Accountant
Remote | Construction Accounting | Sage 100 Contractor | Client-Facing

This Construction Client Accountant role supports multiple construction clientsโ€™ day-to-day operations, including payroll, reconciliations, billing, audit support, and construction accounting work within Sage 100 Contractor.
This is a full-time W-2 role and not a software implementation, ERP consulting, or configuration position.
Important โ€” Please Read Before ApplyingSage 100 Contractor experience is strongly preferred, and candidates with recent, hands-on Sage 100 Contractor experience will be prioritized.Candidates with strong construction accounting experience in comparable systems (Spectrum, Viewpoint Vista, Foundation, Dynamics, etc.) may also be considered if they demonstrate strong payroll, job costing, WIP, and construction accounting depth.
What Youโ€™ll DoAs a Construction Client Accountant, you will:
  • Manage day-to-day accounting functions for a portfolio of construction clients
  • Personally process payroll, including payroll taxes and filings
  • Perform bank reconciliations, sales tax filings, month-end close, billing support, and routine audit/year-end support
  • Support job costing, WIP, progress billing, AP/AR, and related construction accounting needs
  • Support clients with ongoing accounting needs and day-to-day Sage 100 Contractor accounting workflows
  • Maintain accurate records and a clean audit trail across all client work
  • Identify and resolve issues independently when possible
  • Communicate clearly with clients and follow through on commitments
What This Role Looks Like
This role is:
  • Hands-on construction accounting and payroll work
  • Managing a portfolio of clients
  • Working independently with a high level of ownership
  • Supporting real, day-to-day client accounting needs
Building trusted relationships with recurring clients
This role is not:
  • ERP implementation or software consulting
  • High-level accounting strategy or oversight-only work

  • Sage 100 Contractor experience strongly preferred

  • Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP, progress billing, AP/AR, and month-end close
  • Hands-on accounting experience with direct responsibility for completing the work, not solely reviewing or overseeing others
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities independently
  • Strong organization, accuracy, and follow-through
  • Comfort working in a high-autonomy environmentย
