The Contemporary Trauma Mental Clinic is excited to announce an opening for a dedicated Trauma-Informed Mental Health Therapist. This full-time position offers the flexibility of remote work while allowing you to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals coping with trauma. Our outpatient clinic is designed to foster a safe and supportive environment, focusing on conditions including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our multidisciplinary team of professionals collaborates to offer comprehensive care tailored to the unique experiences of each patient.

Work Environment

This role is entirely remote, allowing for an adaptable work-life balance while maintaining a strong connection with our team and clients through telehealth services. You will engage with clients via secure virtual platforms, ensuring a flexible yet impactful therapeutic environment. Our operational hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing some flexibility to accommodate varying patient needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health evaluations to assess individuals' trauma history, offering personalized treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement specific strategies that promote trauma recovery and resilience, utilizing advanced therapeutic techniques.
  • Administer evidence-based therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping clients develop coping strategies, process traumatic experiences, and support their path to recovery.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure an integrated and holistic approach to each patient's treatment plan.
  • Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies, demonstrating effective crisis management skills.
  • Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, coping techniques, and available resources to enhance their understanding and support.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities focused on trauma-informed care.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy and mental health treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily be engaging with a diverse array of clients who have experienced trauma, providing them with specialized care that addresses their unique needs. Our focus on PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders means that your expertise in trauma-informed therapy will be critical in facilitating meaningful outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications
  • A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid state licensure as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or PsyD.
  • At least 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting.
  • Deep understanding of trauma-related disorders, trauma-informed therapies, and resilience-building techniques.
  • Demonstrated competency in trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a sensitive and nonjudgmental approach.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and during emergency situations.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard computer applications.
  • A collaborative team player in a multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Experience
