Responsibilities
  • Provide civil and structural engineering support for DOE facility modification projects and evaluations of existing structures and systems.

  • Apply applicable design codes, standards, site procedures, engineering design control requirements, and assigned quality levels to task-based engineering work.
  • Coordinate with project managers, design engineering management, discipline leads, client representatives, and other technical staff to support task execution, reviews, schedules, and field visit needs.
  • Support work planning, technical input, milestone deliverables, engineering documentation, and design activities on an intermittent or task-specific basis as project requirements are defined.
  • Comply with site access, safety, quality assurance, security, radiological control, and worker safety and health requirements applicable to DOE facility work.

Requirements

  • Experience in hoisting and rigging, powered industrial truck attachments, or industrial welding.
  • Experience coordinating civil/structural design scope with mechanical, electrical, I&C, chemical, project management, safety, quality, and field execution stakeholders.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline and current Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the Commonwealth of Kentucky are required.
