About the Job
As an entry-level Civil/Structural engineer you will work with a team of engineers on client projects involving civil/structural design and analysis of modifications to the physical structures of nuclear power plants. As you begin to learn the requirements of the role and you will apply your academic knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design and reinforced concrete to projects for various clients.
  • Working with a cross-functional team of engineering disciplines you will support project teams involved in the design, modification and analysis of nuclear power plant structures.
  • Under mentorship of senior structural design engineers, you will be trained to prepare designs, calculations, develop specifications and prepare technical reports to support client requirements.
  • Perform the structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations; Conduct structural analyses, including load conditions such as wind and seismic.
  • Occasional travel to client and plant site locations for design reviews, construction coordination and field verification of designs as required.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or associated field.
  • 0-2 years of related practical work experience.
  • Knowledge of civil/structural engineering, including a strong foundational knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, materials science and statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity of tools and principals involved in the production of technical plans, fabrication drawings, and models.
  • Experience with CAD Software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future.
