Technology Designer- Charlotte, NC
This position provides technical and design services in support of technology design projects to produce construction drawings and specifications for our clients. The Technology Designer will be performing telecommunications and special systems DESIGN including structured cabling systems, electronic security systems, and audio-visual systems.
This role can be hybrid or remote
Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the design effort on large and small projects
  • Perform complex analysis, calculations, design, evaluation and inspection for telecommunications, audio/visual, and electronic security systems to support project needs.
  • Produce design documents (drawings, design narratives, and specifications)
  • Review shop drawings and submittals, answer RFI's and perform site visits as needed during the construction phase.
  • Perform research to support project tasks and design choices
  • Prepare various reports and meeting minutes
  • Manage time and self under the supervision of a department manager
  • Ability to interact and work directly with Architects and Owners
  • Willingness to travel for projects nationally and internationally

Qualifications and Experience:
  • BS in Engineering preferred, but not required
  • RCDD certification preferred, but ability and willingness to achieve RCDD is required
  • 5-plus years of experience in telecommunications and special systems DESIGN including structured cabling systems, electronic security systems, and audio-visual systems
  • Extensive knowledge of TIA standards
  • Experience in federal/municipal government, healthcare or aviation preferred but not required
  • Must be competent in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam software
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and balance multiple projects
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to complete work assignments
  • Must be able to travel to a project meeting, interface with clients, and speak confidently about telecommunications and special systems design.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have a valid driver's license

Location: Charlotte, NC (hybrid or remote)
Compensation & Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this role is $80-100K USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
