Remote check encoding is the process of converting physical or digital check images into a digital format that can be processed by a bank or financial institution, all done remotely rather than on-site at a bank branch. Employees working in remote check encoding typically use specialized software to enter and verify information such as account numbers, routing numbers, and check amounts. This role is important for banks and businesses that handle large volumes of checks and want to streamline their operations by reducing the need for manual data entry at a central location.
