As a Mental Health Counselor, you will be responsible for a variety of client-focused tasks. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting individual counseling sessions via video chat, employing effective therapeutic techniques to enhance clients' mental well-being.
• Facilitating discussions that prompt clients to explore their emotions, thoughts, and experiences, thus helping them gain insights into their lives and relationships.
• Acting as an advocate for clients, assisting them in defining achievable mental health goals and providing motivational support throughout the therapy process.
• Using your clinical expertise to evaluate clients’ mental health conditions, recognizing symptoms, and developing tailored treatment plans that utilize solution-focused methodologies.

In this role, you will work with clients who are stable and presenting low acuity mental health issues. To qualify for this position, candidates must possess the following educational and licensing credentials:

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling.
• An independent license to practice in New York, such as Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Please note that limited or provisional licenses are not accepted.

Beyond the required qualifications, we appreciate candidates who have:

• Experience in providing teletherapy or remote counseling services.
• A strong background in behavioral health treatment, particularly in areas such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, or trauma-informed care.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills that allow for the establishment of rapport and trust with clients.
• Efficient computer skills, including experience with telehealth platforms and electronic health record management.
