Chat and Change Counseling, LLC is actively looking for a dedicated and compassionate licensed mental health therapist to join our remote team. As a full-time or part-time mental health counselor, you will play an integral role in providing specialized therapeutic services to individuals navigating the complex journey of trauma recovery, using a variety of evidence-based approaches tailored to each patient's unique needs.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, you will be expected to:

  • Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to understand each patient's trauma history, facilitating tailored treatment planning.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans emphasizing trauma recovery, resilience building, and individual goals.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, creating a safe space for patients to share experiences, develop coping strategies, and promote healing.
  • Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure an integrated and holistic approach to patient care.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention to support patients during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring their safety and emotional support.
  • Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions to stay updated with the latest trauma care practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on individuals who have experienced trauma, including but not limited to those dealing with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will work with diverse populations, each with their individual stories and healing processes. Your ability to empathize, along with your expertise in trauma-informed care, will be key in guiding patients as they navigate their recovery journeys.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.
  • Strong foundation in trauma-related disorders, and familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that demonstrate a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to care.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, and comfort with various computer applications.
Preferred Experience

While a minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred, we value a strong desire to learn and grow in trauma care.
