Position Overview

Chat and Change Counseling, LLC is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team strategically focused on trauma recovery. Our ideal candidate will offer specialized mental health services to individuals navigating the complexities of trauma, fostering healing and resilience as part of their therapeutic journey. This full-time, remote position provides flexibility in scheduling while operating from an outpatient office setting.

About the Organization

Chat and Change Counseling, LLC is grounded in the mission to provide exceptional mental health care to those affected by traumatic experiences. Our practice is dedicated to cultivating a supportive and validating environment for trauma survivors. Specializing in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders, our team is committed to evidence-based therapeutic practices. By joining us, you will be part of a community that values compassion, collaboration, and innovative treatment modalities.

Work Environment

This position is primarily remote, allowing you to conduct therapy sessions and assessments from the comfort of your home. However, occasional in-office meetings and consultations will take place to enhance collaboration with colleagues. Our outpatient facility is equipped with comprehensive resources to support our dedicated team in delivering top-notch mental health services. You will benefit from a flexible schedule that supports work-life balance, ensuring you can provide your best for both your clients and your personal well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand each patient’s unique trauma history and inform appropriate treatment methodologies.
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery, integrating both short-term and long-term goals for resilience building.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in therapy sessions.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to enable patients to process their trauma while developing coping mechanisms and fostering healing.
  • Collaborate actively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, to ensure a well-rounded, integrated approach to patient care.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring patient safety and stabilization.
  • Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping strategies, and available community resources to empower their recovery journey.
  • Maintain documentation and records accurately in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in regular case consultations and team meetings, participating actively in discussions on trauma-informed care practices and enhancements.
  • Stay informed on the latest research, treatments, and best practices within the trauma therapy field to continually improve therapeutic approaches.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with clients who have experienced significant trauma, such as military veterans, survivors of violence, and individuals diagnosed with PTSD or complex trauma. Your expertise will guide them through their healing process, addressing not only the symptoms of their conditions but also their emotional and psychological needs. Your compassionate support will play a critical role in their recovery journey, making a profound impact on their lives.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and active licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Oregon.
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of trauma-related disorders and treatment modalities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills that resonate with an understanding and compassionate approach to therapy.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computing skills to ensure efficient documentation and patient tracking.
  • A collaborative spirit with an ability to bring a multidisciplinary team together for comprehensive care solutions.
Preferred Experience

Preferred candidates will have at least two years of post-licensure experience working with trauma survivors and employing trauma-focused therapy techniques. Experience with diverse populations and a record of advocating for patient-centered care will set applicants apart.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and expertise. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, including:

  • Retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay
  • Professional liability insurance coverage
  • Continuing education opportunities and support for professional development
