What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Ceramics Artist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Ceramics Artist, you need a solid background in ceramic techniques, design principles, and typically a degree or training in fine arts or ceramics. Familiarity with digital design tools, online marketplaces, and virtual collaboration platforms is important for remote work. Creativity, self-motivation, and strong communication skills help artists manage projects independently and engage with clients or audiences online. These skills ensure high-quality artistic output, effective remote collaboration, and successful online business management.

What are remote ceramics jobs?

Remote ceramics jobs involve working in the ceramics field—such as designing, creating, teaching, or consulting about ceramic art—while based outside of a traditional studio or classroom setting. These positions can include online ceramics instructors, digital designers for ceramic products, e-commerce managers for ceramics businesses, or consultants offering virtual workshops and critiques. Advances in technology have made it possible for artists and educators to connect with students, clients, and customers around the world, making remote work in ceramics increasingly viable.

What are some challenges of working as a remote ceramics instructor, and how can they be managed?

One common challenge for remote ceramics instructors is effectively demonstrating techniques and offering hands-on guidance through virtual platforms. To manage this, many instructors invest in high-quality cameras and multiple angles to ensure students can see detailed steps clearly. Another challenge can be fostering a sense of community and engagement among students who are not physically together; this can be addressed by encouraging group discussions, virtual critiques, and collaborative projects. Additionally, instructors often provide detailed supply lists and pre-recorded resources to help students prepare and troubleshoot independently.

Job description

Strategic Account Manager - Medical Device Sector

We're recruiting for a Strategic Account Manager role with a private equity-backed engineered materials manufacturer serving Fortune 500 medical device OEMs — think flexible circuits, rigid-flex, ceramics, and custom advanced materials, not commodity components.

You'd own and grow relationships across a portfolio of established medical device OEM accounts, working directly with customer engineering teams on new product introductions through multi-month to multi-year sales cycles. This is account penetration into existing and adjacent business units, not cold-start hunting — real technical selling with strong cross-functional support from product, engineering, and ops.

Base is $130,000-$160,000 plus a bonus target of 30% (up to 45% at plan). If your background includes direct sales into medical device OEMs with real depth on Class II/III regulatory pathway and commercialization, apply now!

Title: Strategic Account Manager - Medical Device Sector
Location: Remote/home-office based after a 1-2 month on-site ramp (priority regions: LA/OC, Bay Area, San Diego, Minneapolis-St Paul, New England — not a hard filter). Travel 30-40%.
Compensation: $130,000-$160,000 base + bonus (target 30%, up to 45% at plan)

Must-Haves:

  • Minimum 5 years selling directly into Medical Device OEMs
  • Demonstrated depth in Class II/III medical device development, regulatory pathway, and commercialization — credible with engineering, quality, regulatory, and executive stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) or Technical Degree, or 10-15+ years of technical sales experience as a substitute
  • Demonstrated long sales-cycle discipline (multi-month to multi-year deals) with direct engineering-team collaboration
  • Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR
  • Valid driver's license, insurance, and acceptable driving record

Strong Pluses:

  • Direct experience selling flexible circuits, rigid-flex circuits, ceramics, or adjacent engineered materials (seals, gaskets, foams, elastomers, polymers)
  • Named account relationships with Abbott, Medtronic, Boston Scientific, Intuitive Surgical, GE Healthcare, or Siemens
  • Experience navigating PE-backed or high-change organizations
  • Salesforce or comparable CRM proficiency
  • High emotional intelligence / demonstrated cross-functional collaboration with engineering, ops, and customer service

*US Citizens and Permanent Residents are welcome to apply. Unable to provide sponsorship at this time.*
