Job Title

Maintenance ApprenticeThe Advanced Manufacturing Apprentice at CoorsTek will embark on a hands-on, immersive learning journey designed to build the foundational skills needed for a successful career in modern manufacturing. Through structured classroom instruction and real-world, on-the-floor experience, apprentices will gain expertise in critical areas such as precision machining, quality inspection, and equipment maintenance.
This program is part of a targeted development pathway, with a defined timeline and clear milestones, preparing individuals to become skilled professionals in high-tech manufacturing. Apprentices will learn from experienced mentors, operate state-of-the-art equipment, and contribute to meaningful production work, building the capabilities that power innovation at CoorsTek and beyond.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Set Up and Operate Equipment: Learn how to operate advanced manufacturing machinery, from precision milling to additive manufacturing and more.
  • Follow Manufacturing Instructions: Think of it like following a recipe, but instead of food, you're building high-performance components. Every step matters.
  • Refine and Inspect Products: Use tools and techniques to ensure every part meets quality standards-it's like putting the final polish on a finished product.
  • Be a Quality Detective: Check for accuracy and defects and learn how to correct issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Document Your Work: Keep clear records of your work to help your team learn and improve processes.
  • Collaborate and Plan: Work with others to meet production goals, anticipate what's needed next, and help keep things running smoothly.

What You'll Learn:

  • Industry Tools & Safety: Learn to safely use hand tools, power tools, and machines while following strict safety protocols.
  • Advanced Manufacturing Techniques: Get exposure to a wide range of manufacturing technologies and processes beyond CNC machining.
  • Blueprint Reading & Measurement: Understand technical drawings and use measuring tools like calipers and micrometers.
  • Problem Solving & Teamwork: Collaborate with others and think critically to solve real production challenges.

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • A curiosity about how things are made and a desire to learn
  • Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, basic geometry)
  • Willingness to follow safety procedures and work with precision
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Must be a U.S. Person (due to ITAR restrictions)

Target Hiring Range

Hourly: USD 17.10 - USD 20.64
