Job description


The Spray Machine Operator will serve our Water Heater Division, located in Montgomery, AL.
Responsibilities
  • Must be able to operate spray equipment with established procedures using a computer touch screen.
  • Must be able to perform set-up operations on equipment as necessary.
  • Must be able to enter quality data in a computer database periodically.
  • Responsible for monitoring wet mill thickness for adherence to specifications.
  • Must be able to properly use an instrument mill thickness gauge.
  • Responsible for making equipment adjustments as necessary to maintain daily production.
  • Must perform minor preventative maintenance on spray machine.
  • Responsible for notifying supervisor of any malfunctions of spray machine in a timely manner to avoid down time.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
  • Observe all departmental safety requirements.
  • Maintain quality standards according to specifications.
  • Inspect units or parts for defects and workmanship.
  • Work from written or verbal orders.
  • Practice and support Rheem values with internal as well as external customers.
  • May be exposed to high noise levels, heat, dust and airborne particles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • External candidates must possess a minimum of 1 year of manufacturing/warehousing experience.
  • Internal candidates must possess good communications skills.
  • Candidate must have held their current job for a minimum of 6 months prior to bidding on this role.
  • Candidate must not currently be on any probationary period/performance improvement plan or have had a Written Warning or higher for 1 year.
  • Candidate must promote the Rheem Values of Integrity, Teamwork and Business Ethics.
  • Candidate must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Candidate must be able to perform consistently within the physical requirements of the role.
  • Continuous lifting of 5-25 lbs; Frequent lifting of 25-60 lbs; Occasional lifting of 60+ lbs. Must be able to stand, walk and/or lift repetitively during shift.
  • Must be able to place a weighted object at minimum height of 5 foot.
  • Must be able to frequently lift in unsupported positions as well as bend, twist/turn, reach, push/pull.
  • Candidate must successfully be fitted for a respirator.
  • PPE required: Gloves, Safety Glasses, Approved Footwear, Earplugs, Respirator, Clothing Protection.
