Job Description

The Curing Press Operator is responsible for operating truck tire curing presses and ensuring green commercial truck tires are properly loaded, cured, and processed according to production specifications and quality standards. The role requires attention to safety, accuracy, material handling, equipment monitoring, and communication with multiple departments.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Operate truck tire curing presses to cure green tires according to specifications.
  • Ensure assigned presses remain supplied with the correct green tires.
  • Remove empty buggies and stock full buggies at assigned press locations.
  • Verify correct tire codes and load the proper tire into the correct curing press.
  • Properly orient tires according to splice requirements before loading.
  • Operate spray booths, Illemberger equipment, and battery-powered tire delivery equipment as required.
  • Monitor curing press operations and adjust controls as necessary.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions, out-of-spec conditions, or abnormal operating conditions to supervision.
  • Monitor assigned takeaway conveyor systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot the Hirata automatic green tire delivery system and report issues.
  • Accurately record production and timekeeping information.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, tire room personnel, setup teams, and other operators.
  • Maintain 5S workplace standards by keeping work areas clean, organized, and orderly.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure proper care and safe operation of all assigned equipment.
Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent 
  • Successful completion of the WorkKeys Assessment with a minimum Silver certification level.
  • Willingness and ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to lead, support, and promote teamwork in a production environment.
  • Ability to read and understand specifications and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to accurately perform calculations, measurements, and documentation related to production processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
