What is a remote cannabis?

A remote cannabis job is a position within the cannabis industry that allows employees to work from home or another remote location. These roles can include customer support, marketing, compliance, content writing, sales, and administrative work. Remote cannabis jobs are ideal for professionals looking to contribute to the industry without needing to be physically present at a dispensary, farm, or processing facility. Many companies offer remote positions to expand their workforce while complying with state and federal regulations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a remote cannabis position?

To succeed as a Remote Cannabis Specialist, you need a deep understanding of cannabis products, relevant state and federal regulations, and prior experience in sales, customer service, or compliance within the cannabis industry. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, inventory management tools, and traceability software such as METRC is often required, and certain roles may require a state-issued cannabis handler permit or certification. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently while collaborating virtually with team members are vital soft skills. These abilities ensure accurate compliance, effective customer interactions, and success in a remote setting within the fast-evolving cannabis sector.

What does a remote cannabis do?

In a remote cannabis role, your daily responsibilities may include providing virtual consultations to customers, answering product questions via chat or email, processing online orders, and ensuring compliance with legal and company policies. You'll also be expected to keep accurate records, manage inventory data using specialized software, and stay up to date with current cannabis regulations. Collaboration with sales, compliance, and fulfillment teams is often done through online meetings and communication platforms. These tasks combine customer service and regulatory focus, offering flexibility while supporting the business’s remote operations.

Job description

Consultant Psychiatrists Needed At Montu UK

Our patients have often reached a point where they feel they have run out of options. Many have spent years living with anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD or other complex mental health conditions, trying multiple medications and therapies with little success. By the time they reach us, they are looking for a clinician willing to listen, think differently and explore another evidence based treatment option. You could be the clinician that changes that. We are Montu UK, one of the UK's largest medical cannabis clinics, and we are looking for Consultant Psychiatrists to join our clinical team.

You will assess and manage patients exploring cannabis based medicines, making the clinical decision on whether treatment is appropriate and managing their care from there. This is an evolving area of medicine where the evidence base continues to grow, giving you the opportunity to contribute to a field that is developing rapidly.

You do not need previous experience with cannabis based medicines. We are looking for experienced Psychiatrists with excellent clinical judgement, curiosity and an open minded approach to patient care. We provide comprehensive specialist training, and our multidisciplinary model means you are never working in isolation. Nurses and pharmacists complete pre consultation and follow up prescribing tasks, allowing you to focus on clinical decision making and delivering outstanding patient care.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide high quality care for patients seeking medical cannabis treatment.
  • Conduct patient consultations, including assessment and ongoing management.
  • Engage in clinical outcome data collection to support evidence based practices.
  • Contribute to clinical governance and maintain robust patient care standards.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including nurses and pharmacists.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development, including bespoke specialist training in cannabis based medicines (CBMPs).

What you need:

  • Full valid GMC Registration
  • Completion of Specialist Training (CCST/CCT) or equivalent certification
  • On the GMC Specialist Register for Psychiatry
  • Demonstrated interest in alternative therapies
  • Willingness to participate in data collection and reporting

Why join us?

  • Highly Competitive Compensation (rate reflects weekly commitment)
  • Flexible Working: Full time or part time options available
  • Indemnity coverage: Montu's insurance will cover you for prescribing medical cannabis
  • Cutting Edge Training: Access to CPD accredited medical cannabis education and specialist in house training from industry leaders
  • Collaborative Environment: Join a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals
  • Personal Growth: Be part of a pioneering field and shape the future of medical cannabis care in the UK

Training & Development:

  • Attendance at a recognised Medical Cannabis Course for Specialist Physicians (sponsored by Montu)
  • Specialist training delivered by experts, including Prof Anup Mathew (Consultant Psychiatrist) and Dr Gerard Sinovich (Pain Management Consultant).
  • Ongoing support and training on clinical protocols, prescribing practices, and Montu's system usage

Working arrangements:

  • Remote Role: Flexible working hours and days
  • Consultants based in Ireland who hold valid UK GMC Specialist Registration are eligible to prescribe remotely from Ireland for UK patients
  • Standard sessions are 4 hours of patient consultations, and you choose your preferred days and hours; To support onboarding, we ask for a minimum commitment of 2 sessions per week (8 hours) initially, so you become confident with our platform
  • Appointments are 15 minutes for new and existing patients. Our multidisciplinary model means nurses and pharmacists handle pre consultation and follow up prescribing tasks, so Consultants focus on prescribing and patient care

Montu's multidisciplinary model allows consultants to focus on prescribing and patient care, while nurses and pharmacists handle pre consultation and follow up tasks. If you are passionate about innovative patient care, thrive in a dynamic environment, and are looking to make a real impact in the field of medical cannabis, we would love to hear from you!

Sessions:

Each standard session consists of 4 hours of patient consultations. Clinicians can choose their preferred working days and hours, with sessions spread flexibly if needed. To support onboarding, clinicians are required to commit to a minimum of 2 sessions per week/ 8 hours initially, to ensure they become proficient with Montu's platform.

Appointment Durations:

Appointments are 15 minutes in length for new and existing patients as Montu operates a multidisciplinary approach, leveraging a clinical skills mix where nurses and pharmacists handle pre-consultation and follow-up prescribing tasks allowing Consultants to focus on prescribing and patient care.
