Big Cedar Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to join our team. As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Conducting detailed psychosocial assessments for patients and families to evaluate emotional, social, and environmental factors influencing their diagnosis and treatment.
• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques, including crisis intervention and both brief and long-term therapy.
• Collaborating with medical professionals and the patient’s family to create and execute an effective discharge plan that supports continuous care.
• Providing education, counseling, and emotional support to patients and their families regarding adaptation to illness or life circumstances.
• Participating in on-call rotations to provide after-hours support and facilitate urgent requests as needed.
• Assessing oncology patients for symptoms of depression and anxiety, and offering suitable short-term counseling services.
• Educating fellow healthcare professionals about psychosocial aspects relevant to patient care.
• Engaging in community outreach and education focused on improving services for cancer survivors and their families.
• Presenting at educational conferences as a subject matter expert in psychosocial oncology practices.
• Working within legal frameworks, including initiating involuntary examinations under the Baker Act when clinically necessary.

In your role as an LICSW, you will primarily serve patients in a detox center setting, encompassing individuals grappling with substance use challenges as well as those facing mental health symptoms linked to chronic illnesses such as cancer. Our approach is holistic, recognizing the complexities of each patient's situation and integrating medical, psychological, and emotional care to promote recovery and resilience.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:

• A current and valid Washington State LICSW license.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical social work practice, particularly in healthcare settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in using telehealth platforms and electronic health record systems.

While not mandatory, the following experiences would be advantageous:

• Experience working within detox or rehabilitation centers.
• Familiarity with oncology care and psychosocial assessments specific to cancer treatment.
• Advanced training in specific therapeutic modalities or techniques relevant to social work practice.

This position offers a competitive salary, ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
