The Role: 

Signifyd is seeking a highly motivated, multi-disciplined and results-oriented Sr. Business Development Representative (Sr. BDR) to join our strategic sales team. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in creating pipeline in our high tier segments. You will support our sellers, known as Strategic E-commerce Partners, in ensuring the early stage pipeline has enough support to progress towards booking. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to our strategic goals, be compensated for it, and drive opportunities to our closers.

Responsibilities:

  • Targeted Business Development Outreach:
    • Identify and research potential high-value target accounts aligned with our strategic objectives based on internal and external signals, and intent.
    • Develop and share engagement plans, contact mapping and create account strategy briefs for the senior sellers and leadership.
    • Execute targeted outreach strategies both independently and cross-functionally with the marketing function (e.g. campaigns, social selling, networking, in-person events) to generate qualified leads and progress existing pipeline.
    • Quickly gain an understanding of our key value propositions, trends, and the payments and fraud space in order to craft compelling and personalized stories.
    • Schedule and conduct initial discovery calls and meetings to understand prospect needs and determine fit.
    • Although optional, a desire to attend industry events that will be a key driver of understanding the dynamic of eCommerce and building relationships.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all outreach activities and prospect interactions in our CRM system.
  • Middle-of-Funnel Deal Management:
    • Collaborate closely with Strategic Ecommerce Partners to nurture qualified opportunities.
    • Act as a key point of contact for prospects, address inquiries with urgency and maintain open lines of communication with opportunity owners.
    • Maintain meticulous records of deal status, activities, ownership of action items and key milestones within the CRM.
  • Collaboration and Reporting:
    • Work closely with Marketing, Sales Operations, Partnerships and other internal teams to ensure alignment and optimize the sales process.
    • Provide regular reports on outreach activities, lead generation metrics, and deal progression status currently on a weekly basis with leadership.
    • Contribute to the development and refinement of our sales strategies, processes and best practices.
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitive landscape, and best practices in sales development and deal management; uncover gaps and communicate those internally.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in a sales development, business development, account management or similar role. Understanding of ecommerce, payments or fraud is a plus.
  • Proven track record of successfully generating qualified leads through proactive outreach; you know your process and can apply it in any model.
  • Understanding of longer term deal cycles and how opportunities progress through a sales pipeline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and professional messaging; Strong AI skills.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach, LinkedIn SalesNav) and other sales enablement tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a unique and collaborative team; open to supporting projects for the betterment of the Market Intelligence & Development team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.

Compensation: 

The starting base salary for the selected candidate will be based on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and current market conditions.

This is a sales role with a compensation structure-meaning you receive base salary, and there is earning potential in commissions when performance targets are met.

  • Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 USD annually
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): Up to $140,000 USD annually (includes base + commission)

Equity: This role is eligible for a stock option grant of 1,200 stock options, based on the position level and internal compensation guidelines.
