Overview

Project Director of Business Operations, Specialty

Location: 50% - 75% travel - Remote

An experienced Project Director of Business Development to serve in a strategic operations capacity with our Specialty facilities. In this role, you will conduct on-site analyses to identify areas where facilities are falling short and uncover opportunities to build a strong foundation for volume growth, clinical program development, and brand enhancements. You will also work to implement internal operational changes that ensure our brand messaging to patients, families, and professional referral sources aligns seamlessly with our internal policies and practices.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Facility Analysis

  • Visit specialty facilities to assess current operations, clinical programs, and brand positioning
  • Identify gaps in service delivery and areas for improvement in volume growth and competitive positioning

Strategic Planning & Implementation

  • Develop actionable recommendations to drive volume growth, enhance clinical programs, and boost brand visibility
  • Collaborate with facility leadership to design and implement tailored strategic plans
  • Recommend and facilitate internal operational changes to ensure consistent, aligned brand messaging across all stakeholder groups

Consultation & Advisory

  • Serve as a trusted consultant and advisor, providing expert insights and recommendations based on best practices in the industry
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and proposals outlining analysis findings, strategies, and expected outcomes

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with internal teams, including marketing and operations, to ensure that all initiatives are executed in alignment with organizational goals
  • Maintain ongoing communication with facility teams to monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed

Market & Industry Analysis

  • Stay current on market trends and regulatory changes impacting the specialty healthcare sector
  • Leverage data and insights to continuously refine strategies that improve competitive performance

Interim Coverage of Priority Vacant Roles

  • Provide temporary leadership coverage for priority vacant Director of Business Development (DBD) roles at specialty facilities
  • Ensure seamless business development continuity during leadership transitions to maintain referral relationships and market share
  • Actively assume DBD responsibilities-including in-field outreach, internal coordination, and account management-until a permanent leader is hired and onboarded
  • If a Business Development team is already in place at the facility, provide direct oversight, mentorship, and accountability to ensure alignment with strategic goals

Standard Expectations

  • Comply with organizational policies, procedures, performance improvement initiatives and maintains organizational and industry policies regarding confidentiality
  • Communicate clearly and effectively to person(s) receiving services and their family members, guests and other members of the health care team
  • Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintains them over time
  • Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance
Qualifications

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, and a healthcare administration degree or a related field is preferred
  • A minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in business development leadership or consulting within the healthcare or specialty facilities sector preferred
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing growth strategies and operational improvements
  • Proven experience in conducting comprehensive facility analyses and crafting strategic recommendations
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • A deep understanding of the healthcare industry, including clinical operations and market dynamics
  • Ability to travel to various facility locations as required. A minimum of 50% travel
