ServiceNow Business Analyst
Rothe is seeking a Business Analyst to provide Service Management and ServiceNow Platform business analyst support, for the Service Management Office (SMO) in support of the NASA Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract. eMITS is the Agency’s enterprise-level contract creating and delivering multimedia and technical communications through the use of the internet, digital platforms, and IT management for NASA’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of Communications (OCOMM). From photographing rocket launches and recoveries, to producing engaging videos, to information technology management, to using social media to share NASA’s message, eMITS integrates services for NASA IT and provides NASA’s communication to the outside world. Job Description:
Work shall include activities across portfolio, product, and process areas, including but not limited to:
Functional Responsibilities:
  • Eliciting, refining, documenting, and managing business and functional requirements.
  • Facilitating working sessions with stakeholders, product owners, developers, and platform administrators to ensure clear understanding of business objectives and technical constraints.
  • Developing user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, and related artifacts consistent with Enterprise ServiceNow Platform governance.
  • Supporting backlog development, grooming, prioritization, and release planning activities.
  • Translating business problems into structured requirements aligned with enterprise standards, governance models, and ServiceNow best practices.
  • Supporting change management activities, including communications, documentation, testing coordination, and training-related input.
  • Ensuring proposed solutions maintain platform stability, usability, and compliance with enterprise architectural and governance guidance.
  • Assisting with production validation, root-cause analysis, and post-deployment assessments.
Remote, hybrid, and onsite positions, the employee bears travel costs to the nearest NASA Center for badging and the issuance of NASA IT equipment.
For a Remote or Hybrid position, the employee must have a reliable internet connection and be able to VPN into the NASA network to conduct work.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Education: BA/BS in Project Management, Communications, Business Administration, or an IT related discipline
Minimum Experience: 6 years
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of business analyst or project management experience
  • 3-5 years of business/mission (outcomes/impacts), strategic/tactical (project planning) and operational (implementation/service/product delivery) experience
  • 3-5+ years of professional experience with the ServiceNow platform
  • Strong experience working within Agile/Scrum, including managing user stories, backlog grooming, and sprint planning
  • Experience with Risk Management and best practices
  • Experience using tools for requirements gathering and implementation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, OneDrive), SharePoint, and Box.
