Position Highlights
- $150 $160/hour + $18/hour call
- ️ Housing, travel, and rental car provided
- 8 12 patients per day
- Serve 95% Alaska Native population in villages
- Monday Friday clinic + shared call
- Full medivac support (including Coast Guard)
- Rotational village assignments (fly-in communities)
Practice Setting
- Based in Juneau , the scenic capital of Alaska
- Village travel via small aircraft to remote sites
- EHR: Meditech (2025)
- Communities primarily from:
Clinical Scope
- Inpatient & outpatient hospitalist care
- Emergency room coverage (shared/optional)
- Treat patients across all ages (newborn geriatric)
- Procedures include:
- Suturing
- X-ray & EKG interpretation
- Ultrasound
- Fracture management
No major surgery, C-sections, or advanced anesthesia required
Support & Resources
- RNs, MAs, CHAPs (Community Health Aides)
- Case management support
- Medivac and Coast Guard transport
- Strong referral network

- Alaska Native Medical Center ( 550 air miles)

Responsibilities
- Provide hospital-based and emergency care
- Deliver comprehensive care across all age groups
- Collaborate with village providers and specialists
- Serve as a consultative liaison across remote sites
- Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- MD or DO, Board Certified
- Active (or eligible) Alaska medical license
- Unrestricted DEA
- Minimum 5 years experience preferred
Certifications:
- BLS required
- ACLS, PALS, ATLS (within 1 year for ER coverage)
Ideal Candidate
- Comfortable in low-resource / remote settings
- Open to solo coverage at times
- Flexible and mission-driven
- Able to commit to at least 4-week assignments
