Deck Armor installs custom granulized rubber marine flooring — waterproof, slip-proof, and built to handle Florida sun, salt, and heavy use. We're a growing Tampa-based company looking for a motivated, hands-on installer to join our team and grow with us.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base hourly rate plus square footage production bonus — averaging $45,000–$65,000 per year.
- Currently 1099; transitioning to W2 in the near future.
- Paid holidays.
- Company fishing trips, including one just for your birthday.
Schedule
- Primary hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm.
- Occasional weekends for installs, mobile jobs, fishing tournaments, and boat shows.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and move 80+ lbs.
- Physically demanding work — installing on boats requires strength, endurance, and comfort in tight spaces.
- This role is physically demanding, fast-paced, and requires reliability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. We’re looking for people who take pride in their work and want to grow with the team.
Installation Support
- Install Deck Armor decking systems under the direction of the Lead Installer.
- Measure and prepare work areas prior to installation.
- Mix, move, and stage materials as needed.
- Help ensure clean, professional finishes on every project.
- Serve as the first line of quality assurance.
Surface Preparation
- Clean and prep surfaces for installation.
- Mask surrounding areas to protect the boat.
- Assist with all prep work before and cleanup after each job.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment after use.
Shop Responsibilities
- Keep the shop clean and organized at all times.
- Help load and unload boats and materials.
- Prepare tools and supplies for upcoming jobs.
- Follow all shop safety procedures.
- Perform weekly cleaning of the office space, fridge, and cabinets.
Teamwork & Customer Experience
- Work efficiently alongside other team members to meet project deadlines.
- Take direction and continuously learn installation techniques.
- Represent Deck Armor professionally during customer interactions at drop-off, pick-up, and on job sites.
Growth Path
This role is built for growth. As you develop your skills, additional responsibilities will be added. The long-term goal for this position is to advance into a Lead Installer role, managing your own install team.
