Job description

This is a remote position.

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Biomechanical Engineer Expert Witness to join our team of technical consultants. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in biomechanics, injury causation, and human motion analysis—translating complex scientific data into clear, defensible opinions for legal cases. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of science and law and takes pride in helping attorneys and juries understand the mechanics behind injuries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed biomechanical analyses related to motor vehicle accidents, falls, impacts, product failures, and other incidents involving human injury.
  • Review case materials, including medical records, photographs, accident reports, and witness statements, to evaluate injury consistency and causation.
  • Prepare comprehensive expert reports and outlining methods, findings, and professional opinions.
  • Testify as an expert witness in depositions, mediations, and court proceedings, effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate closely with legal teams to develop case strategies, exhibits, and demonstrative evidence.
  • Perform physical testing, modeling, or reconstruction as necessary to support biomechanical conclusions.
  • Stay current on advances in biomechanics, injury criteria, and relevant standards or guidelines.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (Ph.D. preferred).
  • Proven experience conducting biomechanical or injury causation analyses, ideally within a forensic or litigation support context.
  • Familiarity with human tolerance limits, impact dynamics, and motion analysis tools.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to environmental factors, incident dynamics, and other details.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex data clearly and persuasively.
  • Previous expert witness experience (deposition or trial testimony) required.
  • Professional engineering license (PE) or equivalent certification desirable.

Benefits

What We Offer:

    • Dedicated case management and administrative support from initial client intake to billing and collections that allows you to focus on doing what you love, delivering expert insights.

    • Marketing and business development initiatives designed to generate new case opportunities and expand your reach and visibility in the legal industry.

    • Peer review support and access to a multidisciplinary team of experts across Accident Reconstruction, Trucking, Digital Forensics, and related specialties.

    • Report writing support and professional development opportunities such as deposition coaching, testimony training, and continuing education in your field.

    • Flexible engagement structure.

    • A collaborative environment where your expertise is valued, and your contributions directly influence case outcomes.
