Title: Premium Billing Specialist
Setting: Remote or Hybrid (Local candidates: onsite at least 1 day/week)

Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Pay: Starting at $23.00/hour (Level placement based on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (Must be flexible to work until 6:00 PM during enrollment season)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Premium Biller to join a high-performing healthcare finance team. This role focuses on complex premium billing, accounts receivable reconciliation, payment processing, billing discrepancy resolution, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate has a strong background in finance, banking, accounting, or healthcare revenue cycle operations and thrives in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately reconcile health plan accounts receivable and ensure financial records align with incoming payments.
  • Process complex financial transactions, including payment posting, refunds, and write-offs.
  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, returned payments, and billing issues.
  • Respond to member billing inquiries, including explaining government policies such as grace periods.
  • Navigate multiple systems simultaneously to verify balances, payment deadlines, and account status.
  • Maintain a quality accuracy score of 98% or higher while managing high-volume workloads.

Required Qualifications

  • Must reside in Virginia or Florida
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in finance, banking, billing, accounting, accounts receivable, or a related field.
  • Experience performing account reconciliations and resolving complex financial discrepancies.
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
