Job Description
BeVera Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced, part-time Senior Health Communications Researcher to support a federal public health communications contract with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This role leads formative research and behavioral science activities that inform communication strategies, message development, and campaign optimization. The Communications Researcher conducts environmental scans, oversees message testing, and ensures research findings are translated into evidence-based communication approaches that support federal public health initiatives.
NOTE: Position Contingent upon award of contract. This role is part of a pre-award candidate search for an upcoming federal government contract.
Requirements
  • Lead formative research activities supporting public health communication initiatives.
  • Conduct environmental scans to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in public health messaging.
  • Design and implement qualitative and quantitative research, including message testing.
  • Translate behavioral science insights into evidence-based communication strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including communications, digital, and evaluation staff.
  • Develop research reports, presentations, and documentation supporting program deliverables.
  • Coordinate research activities to ensure compliance with federal research standards and guidelines.
  • Participate in occasional travel to support project activities and coordination with federal stakeholders.

Educational and Experience Qualifications
The following qualifications are the minimum requirements for successful performance under the anticipated contract.
  • Master's or PhD in Public Health, Behavioral Science, Health Communication, or related field.
  • 8-12 years of experience conducting public health research and message testing.
  • Demonstrated experience applying behavioral science to communication strategy development.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Human Subjects Research certification preferred.
