Job description

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Test Automation Engineer to support the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Enrollment System (VESEE 2.0), VistA REE, and EDB/IVM modernization efforts. This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated functional, regression, API, and performance test solutions using Tricentis Tosca, NeoLoad, and QTest. The Test Automation Engineer will work closely with development, DevOps, and quality assurance teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and ensure comprehensive test coverage across enterprise applications. This position will be fully remote within the United States.
Responsibilities
The Test Automation Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise test automation solutions that support application quality, continuous integration, and DevOps delivery. This role will design automated test frameworks, build functional and performance test suites, integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines, and support end-to-end quality assurance activities across multiple enterprise applications and interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain automated functional, regression, and API test suites using Tricentis Tosca.
  • Design and execute performance, load, stress, and endurance tests using NeoLoad.
  • Develop automated API contract tests for internal and partner-facing REST services.
  • Integrate automated testing into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines with GitHub, Jira, and QTest.
  • Validate application functionality, business rules, API integrations, and data processing across enterprise systems.
  • Develop data-driven test scenarios using Oracle SQL and application datasets.
  • Monitor automated test execution, analyze results, and support defect identification and resolution.
  • Maintain automated test assets, repositories, and documentation to support long-term sustainment.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and DevOps engineers to ensure complete test coverage and continuous quality improvement.
  • Support implementation of AI-assisted test generation and automation capabilities where appropriate.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree and 12+ years of experience (or commensurate experience)
  • Tricentis AS1/AS2 certification and/or Tricentis Test Design Specialist (TDS1/TDS2).
  • Experience developing automated test solutions using Tricentis Tosca.
  • Experience with API testing for REST services and JSON-based applications.
  • Experience integrating automated testing into Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with GitHub, Jira, and QTest.
  • Experience designing and executing performance tests using NeoLoad or comparable performance testing tools.
  • Experience writing Oracle SQL queries to support test validation and data-driven testing.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience supporting VistA, Cerner, VHA Enrollment System (VESEE), EDB/IVM, or other federal healthcare applications.
  • Experience implementing AI-assisted or Copilot-enabled test generation.
  • Experience with API contract testing and schema validation.
  • Experience supporting enterprise DevOps environments and automated regression testing.
  • Experience working in federal government or other highly regulated environments.
