Job description

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.     Work with licensed professionals in the design, assessment, and/or construction of commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.

2.     Provide technical expertise within the field of architecture, engineering, construction, or other related field for projects involving assessments, upgrades, maintenance, and restoration of the built environment, as well as components of design related to new construction.

3.     Perform calculations consistent with technical practice area.

4.     Research building codes and standards (historical and current).

5.     Review/research product submittals, samples, mock-ups, testing reports, data sheets, and warranties.

6.     Perform field assessments including working from ladders, lifts, scaffolds, confined spaces, rooftops, and mechanical, electrical, and fire protection equipment rooms.

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

       Requires a Master's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or other Construction-related degree and the following experience:

1.     1 year of experience using AutoCAD and Building Information Modeling software;

2.     1 year of experience with general construction principles and processes;

3.     1 year of experience in the design, assessment, or construction of building systems;

4.     1 year of experience providing construction documents, construction administrative services, or project management of building construction;

5.     1 year of experience analyzing and interpreting common scientific and technical reports or journals, financial reports, and legal documents;

6.     1 year of experience writing scopes-of-work, budget estimates, schedules, reports of findings, proposals, general correspondence, and other technical documents;

7.     1 year of experience reading, interpreting, and understanding technical documents such as codes, engineering cut sheets, building plans, and guidance documents; and

8.     1 year of experience in International Code Council (ICC).

       In the alternative, the company will accept a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or other Construction-related degree and the following experience:

1.     3 years of experience using AutoCAD and Building Information Modeling software;

2.     3 years of experience with general construction principles and processes;

3.     3 years of experience in the design, assessment, or construction of building systems;

4.     3 years of experience providing construction documents, construction administrative services, or project management of building construction;

5.     3 years of experience analyzing and interpreting common scientific and technical reports or journals, financial reports, and legal documents;

6.     3 years of experience writing scopes-of-work, budget estimates, schedules, reports of findings, proposals, general correspondence, and other technical documents;

7.     3 years of experience reading, interpreting, and understanding technical documents such as codes, engineering cut sheets, building plans, and guidance documents; and

8.     3 years of experience in International Code Council (ICC).

       Professional or university-level internship experience acceptable.

       Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience for the job.

       Experience may be gained concurrently.

       Requires up to 40% domestic travel.

SALARY: $121,430.00/year to $149,900.00/year
