What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Application Support Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Application Support Engineer, you typically need strong problem-solving abilities, knowledge of application troubleshooting, and a background in computer science or information technology. Familiarity with ticketing systems, remote desktop tools, SQL databases, and relevant certifications like ITIL or CompTIA A+ is often required. What is a Remote Application Support Engineer?

A Remote Application Support Engineer is a technical professional who provides assistance and troubleshooting for software applications from a remote location. Their primary responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving software issues, assisting users with technical problems, and ensuring that applications run smoothly. They often communicate with clients or internal teams via email, chat, or video calls, and may also work on software updates or patches. Job description

We are looking for a Mid-Level APPs / OSS-BSS Support Engineer with experience in Oracle Communications environments, including BRM, Charging, Billing, Mediation, Provisioning, and Order Management. The candidate should have solid hands-on experience in application support, production troubleshooting, monitoring, KPI analysis, documentation, maintenance support, and 24x7 on-call operations.

The role requires strong coordination skills to work with customers, internal teams, and vendors, along with good knowledge of Linux/Unix, cloud-native platforms, Kubernetes, Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, and monitoring tools. Exposure to OSS/BSS, BRM core nodes, and real-time charging / billing flows is highly desirable.

This is also a remote LATAM-based role supporting LAD/EMEA operations, with availability for rotational shifts, weekend support, and maintenance windows.
Spanish and English are required.

Our preference is to have these resources based in Chile. However, we are open to considering candidates from the broader LAD region if they have the right skills and solid O&M experience in those domains.
