Principal Linguistic Engineer (ASR/TTS/NLU)

Remote (US)

Role Summary

The Principal Linguistic Engineer provides linguistic science leadership across Arabic. This role acts as the most senior linguistic authority, shaping modeling frameworks, evaluation structures, and linguistic standards across ASR, TTS, and NLU workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-language linguistic science and strategy for all workflows.
  • Define phonological, morphological, syntactic, and semantic frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain test suites, adversarial data, golden sets, and evaluation rubrics.
  • Handle complex linguistic escalations and edge-case decision-making.
  • Support ASR/TTS error diagnostics and linguistic model analysis.
  • Mentor Leads, Senior Linguists, and Linguistic Engineers.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and rigor across all languages.

Requirements

  • 10–15+ years of experience in linguistics, computational linguistics, or linguistic engineering.
  • Strong expertise in phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and language modeling.
  • Experience supporting ASR, TTS, or NLU workflows.
