The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Corporate Aircraft Maintenance Technician (EntryLevel) for USAA’s Flight Department at the San Antonio International Airport.

Entry-level Aircraft Maintenance Technician for an FAR Part 91 Corporate Jet Operation based at San Antonio International Airport.  Provides safe, reliable and efficient maintenance support including pre-launch and post-recovery operations, maintenance inspections, systems troubleshooting and other technical support-related functions on USAA’s Corporate Aircraft (Dassault Falcon 2000s).  Complies with all applicable FAA regulations, aircraft manufacturer requirements, OSHA safety standards and the USAA Flight Services Manual.

in the office. This position is based in : San Antonio, TX. Relocation assistance is available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Assists in performing scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance including inspections, troubleshooting, and repair in accordance with internal flight operations procedures, manufacturer maintenance manual, and FAA regulations.
  • Complies with EPA/OSHA regulations and facilitates a safe, clean and organized work environment.
  • Positions aircraft for departures and arrivals by towing or marshaling with supervision.
  • Performs and monitors aircraft fueling operations.
  • Maintains interior and exterior condition of aircraft to include necessary cleaning or polishing.
  • Assists in performing pre- and post-flight inspections.
  • May assist in monitoring external (third-party) work, including maintenance performed away from home base.
  • Ensures aircraft logbook entries, associated maintenance tracking software and other associated documents are complete and accurate.
  • Responsible for installing updates to aircraft navigation database software.
  • Performs parts tracking, maintains serviceability of Ground Support Equipment (GSE), completes Quality Assurance (QA) inspections and adheres to waste stream disposal procedures.
  • Complies with FAA Regulations, Airworthiness Directives, and manufacturer's Service Bulletins.
  • May serve as an Assistant Dedicated Crew Chief for an assigned aircraft.
  • Receives technical assistance, as required, from higher-level technician.
  • Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft, components, and engines of simple to moderate difficulty.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.


What you have:

  • High School Diploma, General Equivalency Diploma, or applicable Trade School/Technical Diploma.
  • FAA Certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanice.
  • 1 year of aircraft maintenance related experience.
  • Aircraft maintenance experience acquired in A&P school or military aircraft maintenance experience applies toward this requirement.
  • Basic computer data entry skills required for use of maintenance and logistics databases.


Physical Demand Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and to work from moderate heights.
  • Ability to continuously stand and sit.
  • Requires intermittent walking, driving, traveling, climbing, working at heights, bending, crouching, stooping, pushing, pulling, and reaching.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: 57,970.00 - 97,820.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
