Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to create individualized therapy plans tailored to the needs of clients.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic approaches, and solution-focused short therapy.
• Facilitate therapy sessions for diverse groups including individuals, couples, and families, adapting your approach based on the dynamics and contexts of each situation.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, adhering to legal and ethical standards to ensure the confidentiality and welfare of clients.
• Actively engage in continuous learning, participating in workshops to stay updated on mental health research trends and therapeutic techniques.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients with complex needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a varied client population, including individuals from underserved communities who face challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance misuse. By providing tailored therapeutic interventions, you will help enhance their quality of life and facilitate a path toward recovery and resilience.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is essential.
• Current and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical counseling setting, demonstrating a strong foundation in handling diverse mental health issues.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and familiarity with telehealth technologies.

Preferred Experience

• Specialization in areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance misuse is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a diverse client base, instilling trust and encouraging open dialogue.
• Experience working collaboratively as part of a healthcare team to provide holistic care.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and caseload.
