POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Manager, Curriculum Operations, is responsible for coordinating and driving the successful execution of curriculum-related projects across the organization. This role manages project plans, timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to organizational priorities. The Project Manager serves as a central point of coordination across Curriculum Development, Product, Print Production, Technology, and other cross-functional teams, driving accountability and maintaining visibility throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is a results-oriented project management professional with experience in a K–12 curriculum, educational publishing, instructional materials, or EdTech environment. They are highly organized, proactive, and skilled at building relationships, navigating ambiguity, and coordinating multiple concurrent initiatives while delivering consistent project outcomes. Successful candidates demonstrate exceptional professionalism, while building trust across diverse teams.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage multiple curriculum-related projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment of timelines, deliverables, budgets, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, dependencies, and schedule impacts, and drive accountability for commitments, deliverables, milestone completion, and contingency planning, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Coordinate project activities and drive accountability across Curriculum Development, Product, Print Production, Technology, and other stakeholders, including proper cross-functional handoffs and phase transitions.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, resource plans, documentation, trackers, and reporting artifacts to ensure accurate project visibility and execution.
  • Facilitate project meetings, readiness reviews, and status checkpoints; document decisions, action items, risks, and next steps; and communicate progress, project health, accomplishments through dashboards and executive updates.
  • Coordinate launch-readiness activities, ensuring required deliverables, approvals, communications, and dependencies are completed prior to release.
  • Support project intake, prioritization, and all planning activities by gathering requirements, documenting scope, and coordinating stakeholder input.
  • Monitor project budgets, resource allocations, and expenditures; identify variances and provide budget updates and forecasts to leadership.
  • Partner with the Vice President of Curriculum Operations, in conjunction with Curriculum Directors and Senior Managers, to support portfolio visibility, reporting, and execution of strategic initiatives across the curriculum organization.
  • Analyze project metrics and execution trends to identify data-driven opportunities for improved coordination, communication, efficiency, and overall project performance outcomes using retrospectives.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies/Skills:
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated experience planning, coordinating, and executing complex cross-functional projects involving simultaneous workstreams, stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence outcomes and drive accountability.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk-management skills with the ability to identify trends, dependencies, evaluate impacts, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Proficiency creating and maintaining project documentation, trackers, dashboards, and reporting tools using project management and collaboration tools such as Monday.com, Jira, Excel, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and effectively coordinate work across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting budget tracking, resource coordination, status reporting, and project performance monitoring.

Education and/or Experience:
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of project management, program management, operations, or related experience required.
  • Experience within a K–12 curriculum, educational publishing, instructional materials, or EdTech organization strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects involving curriculum development, print design, print production, technology, product, or publishing teams strongly preferred.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Project Management, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership or related field required.
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or comparable project management certification required.
