You will design and execute comprehensive test strategies, contribute to the development of automation frameworks, and apply modern QA practices to deliver efficient, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to identify risks, improve testing processes, and ensure seamless integration across systems. While this is not a management role, you will mentor junior QA engineers, share best practices, and help raise the overall quality bar within the team. Your work will directly impact the stability, performance, and trustworthiness of products that support millions of teachers and students.
Location: Onsite two days a week, if you live within a 45-mile radius of the Houston headquarters. Remote for those outside of the Houston metropolitan area.

  • Evaluate and experiment with AI-driven testing tools to enhance regression coverage, defect detection, and test optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps to integrate QA throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Support coordination with vendor QA teams, helping ensure alignment with internal testing standards.
  • Provide input during design and architecture discussions to advocate for testability, scalability, and resilience.
  • Define and execute detailed test strategies, plans, and schedules for individual features and releases.
  • Communicate testing progress, risks, and quality findings to project stakeholders and team leads.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5–7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with strong hands-on involvement in automation and testing strategies.
  • Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining test automation frameworks in cloud-native environments.
  • Strong experience testing both backend services (APIs, microservices) and frontend applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and API-driven architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability, and performance testing tools.
  • Exposure to AI/ML-based testing tools is a plus, with interest in adopting modern QA practices.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams.
  • Experience mentoring junior QA engineers and contributing to the growth of QA best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to balance quality with delivery timelines.
