What is a Remote A&R job?

A Remote A&R (Artists and Repertoire) job involves discovering new musical talent, evaluating demos, and helping develop artists—entirely from a remote location. Responsibilities may include scouting musicians online, networking with industry professionals, and recommending artists for record labels or music companies. Remote A&Rs use digital platforms like social media, streaming services, and online music communities to identify emerging talent. They may also provide feedback to artists on their sound and marketability. This role requires a strong ear for music trends and the ability to spot potential hits.

What are the main responsibilities and challenges of working as a Remote A&R?

As a Remote A&R, your primary responsibilities include identifying and evaluating emerging musical talent, nurturing artist relationships, and collaborating with producers and label teams—all while working from a remote location. One common challenge is building strong connections and trust with artists and colleagues without in-person meetings, requiring excellent digital communication skills. You’ll often review music submissions, conduct virtual scouting on social platforms, and participate in online meetings to pitch and discuss new talent. Adaptability and self-motivation are important, as you manage your own schedule and proactively seek out potential artists in a highly competitive and fast-paced industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote A&R position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote A&R (Artists and Repertoire), you need a strong ear for talent, deep knowledge of music trends, and experience with artist development, often supported by a background in music business or related fields. Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs), music analytics platforms, and CRM systems is essential, along with an understanding of online scouting tools. Outstanding communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills are key for networking and guiding artists remotely. These qualities are crucial for identifying promising talent, managing artist relationships, and ensuring successful collaborations in a virtual environment.

Northern Light Medical Management is seeking Board-Certified Radiologists for ongoing locum tenens coverage across multiple hospitals and imaging centers nationwide. These opportunities offer predictable scheduling, no call, and a variety of day, swing, night, weekend, onsite, and remote-eligible roles.

Radiologists may express interest in one or multiple locations, depending on licensure, modality comfort, and schedule preference.

  • Minimum commitment of 40 hours per month

  • Providers must maintain 3 months of scheduled shifts during the contract

Volume & Productivity
  • Typical volume: 90–100 studies per 8-hour shift

  • Expected productivity: ~60–70 wRVUs per shift

  • Productivity is monitored per Northern Light standards

How to Apply

To be considered, please submit:

  • CV

  • Preferred locations

  • Preferred shift types (day / swing / night / weekend)

  • Onsite vs remote preference

A modality checklist will be sent after application or CV review.

Why Radiologists Choose Northern Light
  • Predictable schedules

  • No call

  • Ongoing, repeatable locum work

  • Nationwide footprint with flexibility

  • Clear productivity expectations

Additional Opportunities & Next Steps

In addition to Northern Light Medical Management, I also work with multiple other health systems and radiology groups nationwide, including opportunities with:

  • Regional hospital systems

  • Large multi-site radiology groups

  • Community hospitals

  • Outpatient imaging centers

  • ER- and overnight-focused teleradiology programs

Because radiology remains one of the most in-demand specialties nationally, many physicians today have real choice when it comes to:

  • Schedule and shift type

  • Onsite vs remote work

  • Volume and pace

  • Short-term vs long-term locum coverage

If you’re open to it, I’d welcome a brief conversation to better understand what “ideal” looks like for you — whether that’s a specific schedule, modality mix, pace, or setting. From there, I can spend my own time determining whether:

  • I already have something that fits, or

  • I can bring in the right opportunity based on current demand in the market.
