McKesson is an impact-driven, Fortune 10 company that touches virtually every aspect of healthcare. We are known for delivering insights, products, and services that make quality care more accessible and affordable. Here, we focus on the health, happiness, and well-being of you and those we serve – we care.

Together, we thrive as we shape the future of health for patients, our communities, and our people. If you want to be part of tomorrow’s health today, we want to hear from you.

McKesson's Third Party Logistics (3PL) organization within CoverMyMeds is seeking a Director, Account Management – Cell & Gene Therapy (C>) to lead our Cell & Gene Therapy Center of Excellence (COE). This role sits at the forefront of one of the most transformative areas in healthcare—supporting advanced therapies that have the potential to cure or significantly alter the course of disease.

This leader is accountable for strategy, execution, and financial performance across a portfolio of advanced therapy clients, including ownership of renewals, contracting, pricing strategy and P&L performance.

You will translate McKesson’s enterprise capabilities into scalable, compliant cell and gene therapy logistics solutions, ensuring alignment with evolving market demands. This position plays a critical role in advancing McKesson’s leadership in pharmaceutical logistics and specialty distribution while enhancing client, partner, and patient outcomes.

Approximately 20% travel is required.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Lead and develop a high‑performing Account Management team supporting Cell & Gene manufacturer clients and downstream provider customers

  • Own the strategy, operating model, governance, and results of the Cell & Gene Therapy Center of Excellence within McKesson 3PL

  • Serve as the primary executive point of contact for InspiroGene, ensuring seamless coordination between front‑stage client engagement and back‑stage 3PL execution

  • Act as executive sponsor for key manufacturer accounts, building deep understanding of client programs, financials, and growth objectives

  • Drive portfolio growth, retention, renewals, contract negotiations, pricing strategy, and margin performance

  • Hold P&L accountability for the Cell & Gene account portfolio, including forecasting and financial performance management

  • Translate evolving Cell & Gene market needs into scalable, compliant logistics solutions

  • Partner cross‑functionally with Operations, Distribution Centers, Quality, Regulatory, IT, Finance, Legal, Credit, Inventory, and Project Management teams

  • Establish and monitor KPIs and standardized reporting to ensure strong execution, transparency, and client satisfaction

  • Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean / Six Sigma methodologies to improve efficiency and scalability

  • Leverage data and market insights to balance growth, risk, and operational readiness

  • Represent 3PL in executive‑level client presentations, QBRs, RFPs, and growth initiatives

Basic Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent experience, and typically requires 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years of management experience

  • Experience leading account management or client‑facing teams supporting complex, high‑profile customers

  • Demonstrated experience with contract negotiation, renewals, and commercial execution

  • Strong financial acumen, including pricing strategy, forecasting, and margin management

  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functionally in a matrixed organization

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage executive‑level stakeholders

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in healthcare account management environments (pharma, biopharma, specialty distribution, or services)

  • Cell & Gene Therapy or advanced therapy experience (highly preferred, but not required)

  • Third‑Party Logistics (3PL), pharmaceutical logistics, specialty pharmacy, PBM, or payer experience

  • Experience operating in highly regulated environments (quality, regulatory, compliance)

  • Demonstrated execution mindset with a track record of “getting things done” in complex environments

  • High emotional intelligence and relationship‑driven leadership style

  • ERP experience (SAP strongly preferred)

  • Lean / Six Sigma and/or PMP certification

  • Experience supporting sales, account growth, or new business development

Work Location, Travel & Physical Requirements:

  • Remote role, with preference for proximity to Columbus, OH or another McKesson hub location

  • Candidates located east of the Mississippi preferred due to client time‑zone alignment

  • Travel: Approximately 20% (client meetings, QBRs, internal team sessions, and RFPs)

  • Standard office/remote work environment with occasional onsite visits to operational or client locations
