Parke County REMC is a member-owned, nonprofit electric cooperative serving over 9,000 members across six Indiana counties. Since 1937, we’ve been committed to providing safe, reliable electricity with a personal touch — and we’re looking for a Groundman to help us continue that mission.

Job Description

The groundman position provides training of individuals prior to being entered into the Linemen Apprenticeship program. Major responsibilities include assisting with construction, operation, replacement and maintenance of electric distribution lines, structures, and equipment while observing safety regulations.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Indiana Class A CDL or ability to obtain one
  • Ability to adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work & communicate effectively with management, employees, members, and others.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and safety-first mindset
  • Ability to work outdoors in all conditions and meet physical job requirements
  • Must meet residency requirements within one year of hire date.
  • Subject to random drug and alcohol testing consistent with FMCSA regulations and Cooperative policies.
