Job description

THE POSITION As a District Utility Administrator with the Department of Transportation, you will guide important utility relocation work across the region. You will help keep major transportation projects moving on time and in the right direction. Join a team that works together to solve real challenges and support the public every day.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will oversee utility relocation activities that support transportation projects throughout the district. You will guide planning, coordination, and communication efforts that help keep projects progressing smoothly.

As a District Utility Administrator, you will perform the following duties: Field Reviews: Evaluate proposed highway locations and identify utility relocation needs and solutions Technical Assistance: Support utilities in developing plans and cost estimates for relocation agreements Coordination Efforts: Work with staff, consultants, and utility companies to manage the use of the Utility Relocation Management System and resolve issues Project Oversight: Direct the review of utility plans, estimates, permits, and right of way requirements Relocation Monitoring: Track progress of physical relocations and help address disputes to keep schedules on track Staff Leadership: Assign tasks, assess performance, and guide staff development and training Interested in learning more. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

This position is eligible for an alternate work schedule (AWS) Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, after successful completion of probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Montoursville.

The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $69,086 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Utility Relocation Administrator 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Two years of experience as a Utility Relocation Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of utility relocation work experience and an associate's degree in surveying, civil engineering, or in a design and drafting technology; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
