Position Summary:

The Freight Claims Analyst is responsible for researching and processing freight claims. This includes the timely and accurate resolution of freight claims, communication with the claimant, sales team, customer service, accounting, along with other internal customers and partners. This position will also be responsible for analyzing and reporting trends to properly protect company and serve the customer.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Enters all freight claims received by the department timely and accurately
  • Create claims folders complete with all documentation and combining individual PDF documents into a single document
  • Verifies all essential documents for the claim packet have been received
  • Occasionally, thoroughly review and analyze each claim
  • Responds to emails from Customers based on information within the claims file or about the status of a claim
  • Escalates claims to department leadership when necessary
  • Analyzes trends and communicates to operation team along with department leadership
  • Run daily/weekly/monthly reports
  • Actively follows up on claims that are in hold status or mitigation status
  • Schedule inspections with 3rd party inspection company
  • When necessary composes custom declination or pay letters
  • Manage reports through Excel spreadsheets
  • Other duties may be assigned

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally via email and written form
  • Analyzes trends and communicates to operation team along with department leadership
