This position will play an important role in keeping accounting records accurate, supporting month-end activities, and helping leadership maintain visibility into project and company financial performance. The Bookkeeper will work closely with the Controller while managing core bookkeeping functions across payables, receivables, reconciliations, reporting, and job cost tracking.

Quickbooks proficiency is a must.

Optional part time work from home eligibility.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing transaction coding, preparing journal entries, and correcting discrepancies to preserve accurate financial records.

• Monitor job cost activity by entering budgets and cost codes, reviewing charges against the proper projects, and processing updates or adjustments when needed.

• Produce and evaluate job costing and budget-to-actual reports to help department and business leaders understand financial performance.

• Support month-end close by confirming that project costs and billing are fully recorded, preparing accruals, and completing related accounting entries.

• Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis and investigate variances to ensure balances are complete and accurate.

• Organize and maintain financial records, documentation files, and accounting procedures so information remains accessible, compliant, and current.

• Assist with customer prequalification portal updates and maintain external business reporting records, including vendor payment history and related account information.

• Partner with software providers and internal stakeholders to improve financial reporting capabilities and reduce reliance on manual tracking processes.

• Handle sensitive company and financial information with discretion while supporting administrative accounting needs as assigned.

The salary range for this position is $25/hr to $30/hr. 3 weeks paid vacation.

At least 3-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, ideally within the construction industry.
• Strong working knowledge of accounts payables and receivables, bank reconciliations, and core bookkeeping practices.
• Experience with job costing, general ledger activity, and month-end close out processes.
• Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency, along with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks or Foundation Software; Quickbooks experience is preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
